Debi,

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I think you're right. I'm wondering who would be foolish enough.... oh, well. Doesn't matter much, I suppose - nothing probably left of them now but ashes. There you go. A good lesson for the ones who came to watch? Or.... are they also just ashes....?

Nice one!

Lol, I suppose they might be if they were rooting for the wrong side.
Robyn, thank you so much for reviewing one that is no longer promoted.
I appreciate fun reviews as it just keeps the smiles going. I hesitated on this one at first, so asked a Christian friend and they said even Jesus would have gotten a kick out of it as well. Thank you so much my friend for the very kind review and comments.

That's hilarious! I don't think that's what that sign meant. And I remember the church bus designation said "Heavenbound" and that is probably not what they intended either! Great picture to support your humorous interpretation of the sign! Congrats on the win!

Thanks so much Helen. Lol, I'm pretty sure that was not what the Church meant too, but I do love a little sign humor. And I figured since I was sure who is always the winner, Jesus would have a pretty good sense of humor about it. Thanks for your fun review of my poem and I thank you for your beautiful congrats message. ...... Did you get my message about Jesse?
reply by lyenochka on 31-Aug-2022
No, I didn't get your message yet. I'll check. I just posted a prayer request poem for you and him.
reply by the author on 31-Aug-2022
I added it on your review as an update but it must not have saved. Oh you posted a poem for him, as that was my message telling that I had a poem ready to post after he let me know how the surgery went. But I'm not sure if he really needs two of them, so I will think about it. That was very sweet of you tho.

I just read your note again, but this time w glasses on.
I didn't see the part about your prayer request and that was so lovely and sweet of you. The poem is beautiful and I thank you so very much! I may still post mine to let people know how he is doing. What you did was so thoughtful Helen and I know Jesse will be as touched as I am.
reply by lyenochka on 31-Aug-2022
Yes, please post an update from him, Debi! You and I have different fans so we'd all like to know. 💖💖
reply by the author on 31-Aug-2022
I will do that. It sounds like he has plenty of people caring for him and I am so happy that you asked me to reach out to him. Over time I felt that I have won him over by just being kind as we agreed to disagree on the subject of faith. I never quit trying but he did quit objecting. 🙏Thank you again Helen.
You are the loveliest person I know❣️
reply by lyenochka on 31-Aug-2022
Aww. You're seeing the Spirit - the loveliness comes from Him and we can see that in each other cause we're related! Thanks for reaching out to him! 💖💖

Awe, my very special friend, I thank you so very much! Could you be any sweeter? Sorry this took so long to get back to you, but I have been working on my FS Surprise part 2 poem and some were so easy to pick and then theres always someone who gets left out, as so many are such great friends and authors. However I just thank you from the bottom of my heart for your very kind words and review. And of course I appreciate so very much your generous gift of six stars, Regina. I am in awe of you, my friend. Thanks again!

Awe, this is a fantastic interpretation of that sign. Who thinks like that. Well, a poet, of course. :)) I love the artwork and I really liked the way this writing is worded. Great job!

Thank you so very much friend. I hoped it didn't appear disrespectful in anyway, as I wanted it to show that in all cases, our Lord and Savior wins!
You have been so kind an I truly appreciate your awesome comments and review.

This is clever and just the right humor for a Sunday afternoon. I hope all the churchgoers 'get' what you are saying. No matter how you feel on the subject it still makes us laugh or at least smile at yourself. This uses a few words to make a provocative statement and yet gets the funny bone as well.
Well done!
Jesse

Awe Jesse, what a lovely review & comments! I appreciate the things you said so much. Sign humor is so much fun and really doesn't show disrespect, so it was fun adding my own take on it. You are a terrific guy and I am thinking about you as you prepare for Thursday's surgery. Thanks again my friend!
reply by Jesse James Doty on 28-Aug-2022
I don't know you but you know me this is a conundrum that puzzles me.
Thank you for your good wishes for my upcoming surgery!

Well, I received an abundance of chuckles from this one!

I hate to say it, but it takes me back to high school and remembering a friend who reluctantly agreed to step outside and then got sucker punched behind the pizza joint.

That's so funny Sue, as I was thinking the same thing about my school days.
I so much enjoyed your fun take on this and so much appreciated that you got some chuckles out of it.Thanks for the fun review and comments my friend!

I get concerned if I even pretend to challenge Jesus, under my breath, or if I get impatient because my prayer has not been answered fast enough or in the way I wanted it to be. To meet Jesus in a parking lot? Doom ensues.

Lol, but I called the winner and didn't put any money on it, so I'm hoping Jesus has a sense of humor🙏. Thanks Gary for sharing a little sign humor against old evil himself. As the childhood game said, 'ashes ashes, he fell down.' Not exactly how it went, but that's how this one would go!
And my friend for the great review and comments, much appreciated!
reply by GARY MACLEAN on 28-Aug-2022
You called the winner? You called the winner? Then I know you must have called Jesus. I don't think Jesus has much of a sense of humor. How many people has he had the earth just swallow up? Thousands!
reply by the author on 28-Aug-2022
Yes of course I called Jesus, silly boy! I didn't pick the fight, nor do I think the church meant to. I just love sign humor and in a situation like this I kinda think Jesus doesn't mind a little humor on his behalf. After all there was no disrespect intended by any. And He knows what is in our hearts... Y'know what I mean my friend.
reply by GARY MACLEAN on 28-Aug-2022
Absolutely, I have to think he actually got a chuckle our of some knuckleheaded teenager switching letters around just for the fun of it. I love sign humor too. there are so many opportunities out there for articles.

You are so right. I love being on the winning side of this, as satan will never win. He may get his way with us here and there but I try not to give him that.
I thank you for the very kind and fun comments my friend.
( do you mind me asking what your first name is? We have been friends on here for so long, but I hate always saying my friend, which you are. But you know what I mean)
reply by Boogienights on 28-Aug-2022
My name is Sharon, my friend. :)

Of all the entries I've read, this one actually made me laugh out loud. I think Jesus might be a 'ringer'.

Best of luck in the contest... and may the best man win.

Thanks ever so much Quoiky! I love your name, as it is kind of quirky, in a fun way. Is it your real name or a pen name?
Thanks for the very nice review and words for my poem, I too like to be quirky. And I most graciously thank you for your generous gift of six stars, my friend! You are so very kind!

This 5-7-5, Never Call Out Jesus, has the right set up and takes a casual sign and turns it into that two second skirmish in the parking lot between Jesus and the pile of ashes over there.

Hahaha Bill, you are so funny! No, I agree that being on the winning side and away from the ashes if where to be. Thanks my friend for the fun comments and review for my poem.
