I am on Team Storm. I love the cacophony of lightning and thunder! I'm the first one with my nose pressed to the window... (This used to aggravate my kids, hiding under their beds)--

The angels are bowling! That's what my dad told me!

Another one that needed one review to be "recognized"

And here I am!

    I, too, love storms.
I also want to thank you for the review--especially since it may have bumped me up a little to "recognized" status.

Oh, I enjoyed your tiny poem immensely. I can well imagine what you have described, and your choice of "orchestra" actually helps give a perspective that is a little less frightening for those who are afraid of storms -- nicely done.

Thanks so much for your review and all the stars. I especially thank you for commenting on how the word "orchestra" might make storms seem a little less intimidating for some people. That's a thought that never crossed my mind--I hope it's the case.

I love your poem and the picture of the rainbow. Your poem brings visions and auditory responses to my mind. Living in Oklahoma, we sometimes have violet storms. You did a great job. Shirley

Thanks, Shirley, for your review and all the stars.
Yes, the picture was a true gem--more than I was hoping for by way of that rainbow.
I wish you a calm, pleasant day. Let's see if wishing works.

-Very nice image and presentation.
-The syllable count is good, along with the topic.
-Effective imagery and comparison of thunder and
lightening to the sounds of the orchestra.
-A good concluding line, too.
-Good luck in the contest.

Yes, and it is getting more dangerous. Here around my house anyway. It seems closer to the ground, and those strikes seem louder and stronger. I have always been afraid of storms. However, they are getting stranger. A few weeks ago, there were three storms that rolled in and out. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the review and all the stars. I hope your weather doesn't get much stranger than it is now.
My next-door neighbor just had to have a tall pine tree taken down because it died following a hit by lightning.

I loved this piece. To write about it as a performance is a sensational idea. I loved the way this was written. I wish you the best in the contest. Best, JohnC.

The storms can be quite eye catching and gate crash on our lives and stop us in our tracks and I love a good thunderstorm when I am cosy inside, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks for your review and all the stars. I, too, love thunderstorms. I'll watch them from our covered porch if they don't get too wild.

A well written and presented poem for the contest.

Excellent creative imagery, visuals and presentation.

The only thing is, that white text font on the color background you chose is jarring to my eyes. I think, a darker text font will make it more readable and improve the presentation.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing and for all the stars.
However, I don't believe there is a white text font in my poem--it looks black to me. Please check it out again. Thanks.

It appears white on a light peach background, at least in my computer.

That's interesting, but I can't explain why it comes out that way for you. My computer shows an apricot-colored background with print in black?another mystery of life, perhaps.
    Thanks for letting me know.
reply by Eternal Muse on 27-Aug-2022
I think I might have an explanation. I have issues with my vision, and it was very hard to look at a white screens. So I changed all my computer screens to black, including the one on FS. Maybe because my screen is black, it doesn't allow me to see black and appears in white instead. That's the only explanation I have. However, I will look up your poem on another browse and see how it looks there.

Yes, these summer thunderstorms can put on quite a show, heavy winds, jagged lightning streaks elegantly dance across the sky. The smell of fishy water, and worms wash beside the road. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
