You don't get a break. This is truly a cringe-worthy journey, both tortuous as in convoluted, and torturous as in tormenting. Seems everything that could possibly go wrong did--and then some. Brilliantly narrated!

Thank you so much for the review. I guess we got breaks now and then, but not that weekend. It's not a part of my life I'd ever be willing to repeat.

This is another exhausting story, Beth! What a lot of driving you had to do, and the rental car company wasn't very helpful. Then your Dad! What a stressful time. Well written. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the review. In the end the rental car company didn't want to give back but twenty dollars for our trouble. I argued and ended up getting $50. but it wasn't enough for what we went through.

You?re most welcome, Beth. I?m glad you bartered for a better refund and got it, even though it wasn?t enough.

I haven't read one of your life stories and decided I needed to return the favor of your review(s).
The young man was truly an angel, or there would have been something more serious than a flat tire.
I've read what the bible says about angels being a totally separate being than a human - I have my own opinion of those who seem to intervene. I'll continue to believe in our human (?) angels doing those miracle things.
There were only minor things to change and felt it wasn't important to note them.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Dick, I do appreciate you reviewing one of the chapter of my life. Yes sometimes you just know it happened that way for a reason. I'm not sure why but things always seem to go wrong in my life when there this a wedding a stake, but with three of my children at this point things have gone a little crazy

In life, there always seems to be something going on. The regularly daily activities and just fall in place, and the foolish mistakes and forgetfulness that complicates the simple and makes it maddening. LOL. I flew into Chattanooga the week before last for the first time, then drove to Ft. Payne, Alabama checking out sock factories, or what used to be sock factories. I'm sick of the lack of quality socks and having to purchase mine from Pantherella in England. So, why not make my own. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this review. My life was a bit out of control at that point. I've not known anyone so fussy over their socks they had to get them from another country. Are you in the manufacturing business? I think our Chattanooga sock and underwear factory went out of business, but if your looking to buy a factory I guess you know that. I wish you'd figure out a way to keep one of the pair from disappearing in every wash. They don't seem to like their partner.

No, I've never had a factory, but first time for everything. LOL. If I could figure out how to keep socks from disappearing in the wash I'd be rich. :-)

Yes, I have read the previous chapter 'Prelude to a Wedding', now I find the things that went wrong around the weddings, I mean, a painful memorable journey, though you planned to move for Mississippi and stay in Newton at Dad's house, but God's plan remain; instead we went to hospital we got to see Dad for his surgery; truth is stranger than fiction; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

It sounds a little horrendous, your trip to your destination was interrupted by a flat tyre and what appeared to be an angelic appearance, but with the car hire company mucking you around, it took twice as long to get there, how horrendous is that? Beautifully written Beth, thanks for sharing, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Oh my, I thought my family had bad luck. We may be kin, lol. My cousin's ex husband's family owned Krystal Hamburger Restuarants. They owned the Krystal Ranch in Chattanoga. I moved from Birmingham in 1979 to Michigan. I was born in Russellville, Alabama. Thank God, nothing happened to you in Birmingham, that is a very dangerous place. Thankfully, an honest person helped you. And with the heat.

Thanks for the review and comments. I was born in Mississippi and Birmingham is in the middle of trip from Chattanooga to Meridian. I wish whoever closed the Krystal in Ooltewah, Tn would reopen it. Yes, bad luck follows me when it come to wedding or other events. lol. Good to know I'm not alone.

Oh my word! What a round trip that was! All that could go wrong, did! Lol. I'm sure you were pleased when you were able to go home. I had to laugh at the lady crawling across the podium!! You must have wondered what the heck was coming next! And then poor Connie left her luggage behind. Well, Beth, you both obviously survived that, so you have to have been a cool, calm couple to have done so. I'd have been ripping my hair out! Loved this! Lol. Sandra xxx

I can't wait to see how your dad's surgery went. I am glad the wedding went off without a hitch. I enjoy reading these memoirs.

Of course, she had no concept of early, and despite phone calls to her place, it was afternoon when she finally came (I'm sorry I would have left her.)

Thank you, Barbara. Christi has been left behind many times. We hoped she learn to be on time, but nothing seemed to work. We would have likely left her but she was supposed to sing in the wedding. Carol would have have definitely left her behind.
