A beautiful and loving story full of such admiration! And this is an important story. One that is important to share and have readers think about. I love reading about the success of the disco and Billy. And how you also connected him to every reader through the symbolism of the clock. So wise. I can't wait to read about Sophie.

This is a beautiful story, Wendy. What a talent Bella has for dealing with such situations. We all can learn something from this. Well written. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Wendy,
I see and read of one proud mumma bear.
I hazard a guess about the 'apple' not falling to far from the tree... maybe just a difference in the lane in which Bella skills shine brightly?

You write about Bella and circumstances where her kind-warm and practical mind allow her God-given skills to shine the light on the strategies that overcome and allow the light to flow in. So heart-warming to know there are people such as your beautiful Bella( wait, is that a double negative, making the beautiful redundant?) No matter, I digress... as I was saying, people such as Bella's caring nature and with a true desire to be of service to our young and sometimes, challenged young, that's inspirational in my books.

Another beautiful write Wendy and a true joy to read... what a beautiful and special daughter you have!

Wish I had read these stories in the correct sequence. ah well, that'll teach me for taking a sabbatical for a couple of days.

With our thoughts we create...
kind responses.

Kind regards,
James.

Thank you for sharing this interesting story about your daughter and her gift of working with children. I just returned from a family vacation which included my autistic grandson whom I had not seen for almost three years. It was a joy to spend time with him. Like the boy in your story, he likes to know what is happening and how long it will take.

Thanks so much Anne. I greatly appreciate your very encouraging words, and also the six shining stars. Both are greatly valued. Best wishes for your grandson too in this complex and frightening world he faces.

Quite a talent to bring those poor frazzled animals to a secure enough emotional place where they could actually rest. That is nice.

2nd Para, 1st sentence: SUGGEST (animal petting) rather than (petting animal)
1st red para, 3rd sentence: (infants) should be (infant's) apostrophe
2nd red para, 2nd and 3rd sentences: (four and five year olds) should be (four-and five-year-olds) hyphens
7th blue para, 3rd sentence: Add one space between (replied.) and ("He)

The "clock" is symbolic in this story while still being realistic for Billy. You are right, we all need that "clock" at one time or another. We would do well to acknowledge that fact.

It takes a special person to be able to do what Bella has done, can do and will most obviously continue doing.

Very nice story Wendy

Hi Gary, Thanks so much for reviewing.Thank you too for your suggestions, but one I have to disagree with, sorry, as "infant's" means the possessive of one infant. The way we handle such situations is to consider whether the infants (plural) possess the next element, and if so there is an s after the apostrophe, but if not it remains a compound noun, with no apostrophe to indicate possession. But thank you. You always make me think about the finer points of grammar.

Excellent writing. Excellent work.
The sixth star is for caring. You couldn't work as hard as you do without caring, without a caring heart.
I have seen autism at its hardest. It would be all too easy to walk away from, to allow the condition to prevail.
Best wishes.

Thank you very much Wayne. Working with such children is not easy - but it can be very rewarding when they make progress step by step.

I enjoyed this story because for fourteen years I too, taught the same age group, and recall the variety of behaviors in the classroom. The one big difference, was I was in a private school where my class size was from ten students to a class of sixteen one year. Bella sounds caring, gentle, and patient, giving each child the time and attention they need. She also sounds observant, recognizing the children who need a little extra tender loving care. I wish her great success in her career.

Thank you for your lovely review! You understand too. Bella is also in a private school, but has twenty students. Apparently the school has a good reputation for helping challenging students - so there are more kids with difficult behaviours being enrolled, especially in the early years, so they can be helped to the maximum. It's tiring, but very rewarding as well, watching them make progress.

Wendy,

I am not surprised you have a calm, loving daughter who has imaginative, unique ideas. It seems to be hereditary. And no wonder you are proud of this girl. What?? I picked up on that??

Maybe a little.

She is definitely inspiring and in exactly the right spot. I cannot wait to hear about Sophie!! Thank you!

I have worked with many autistic children. Yes, they are a challenge, but they can be successful in the right environment. I am glad Belle could give Billy that environment, one of acceptance. I can't wait to read about Sophie.

Thank you very much Barbara. The earlier they can access help and coping strategies the greater the chance of successful integration in all of life's experiences. And that is very rewarding for the teachers to see their progress too. Love your understanding review.
