Yes, the songs are of life and its important events - often these are love and loss, grief, betrayal, or everyday experiences common to mankind. You have written beautifully of your love for country music.

I do enjoy country music. The lyrics always portray a good story or lesson in life. I particularly like Dolly Parton, she is such a good singer, songwriter and actress. A very well written poem.

You love country music for some special reason, the stories you find lovable, you love to listen and enjoy; the songs speak about love, compassion and trust and peace of mind; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

Wow. Can I just say I love the way you've ended this Sonnet. "So, let me hear a country song-I'll even join a sing along." I love it. I just do. Wow has always been such an underwhelming word I find myself trying to avoid using but this has undeniably left me awe-struck. Thanks for sharing. All the best and so much love. Also might have to step up my country music listening game. haha

I like your rhyming poems a lot. Your rhyming is very natural and conveys the idea well as the same time. It's a different rhyming scheme than Sonnet but it doesn't matter. The end product is very good.

Well done.

The dings tell a story with music. They capture all the ups and downs, joys and pains of love and life. Everyone has a story to tell - but not everyone can sing!

I enjoyed this verse about your love of country music.
This is well composed, realized, and presented.
The rhymes work well without force and flow naturally.
The topic is relatable to all and can evoke spirited dinner conversation.
Thank you for sharing.

I also am a big fan of country music, not necessarily my favourite, but definitely is right up there, especially when recognizable country music riffs are included.

The lyrics are always clear and as you say appeal to strong emotions.

Nicely done, friend Jay. :))

How true these sentiments expressed here about country music- a genre that does just about everything as stated here in this effective Sonnet 'they sing of things we all can feel'

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Jay,
You have a nicely metered poem about music. But country music, of which some I like, is not only about love and redemption. It is also about break up and getting even. I would think that all genres of music that have lyrics have these themes too.
Keep writing and stay healthy
