Oh my! I had no idea you wrote stuff like this, my sonnet-writing friend! Actually, come to think of it, I do recall that you had this lady assassin in another flash fiction. Scary, violent, but very well written. Congratulations on the win!

Thank you so much for the kudos and congrats, lyenochka. I am honored you recall another La Tigre story. Actually, there have been several. Rod

A really great write. You built you tension well. Your characters excelled and the action was believable, and action packed. Two assassins, two murders they went out for dinner. Now, that's a good nights work.

Congratulations for winning the contest, which this post certainly earned.
La Tigre is an interesting character apparently still learning her craft, with her brother (Aldo) as her handler. Adding the character L'ombra as secret backup for her was wise of Aldo, as events proved. That they have unexpectedly begun a romance certainly will be appreciated as enhancement to the series. You accomplished a lot within 500 words, without making the story seem rushed. I enjoyed reading it.
Superb, and aptly illustrated. -- Mike

You are most welcome, Rod. Current demands on my time keep my reviewing down to just a few per week now, though I do read many more posts. All my reviews are thorough, not short just to get the payout; so I review only the few that I like best, which included yours this time. -- Mike

This story, Assassin Who Would Not Listen, has a light-hearted feel that finds the soul in the assassin and makes us root for the antihero. Neat tale.

Neat story. The stranger just "happened" by, or I think he was keeping an eye on the lady. Especially since, I think I gathered, the woman is the sister of the boss, (Aldo)
Great characters, good plot delivered concisely and wrapped up neatly. It was a fun, quick read.
Good job

Thank you so much, Gary. I am delighted you enjoyed all the elements of my story. La Tigre is a series character of several stories I have posted. The Shadow is new.

I am having a hard time wrapping concrete thoughts around an assassination plot in less than 500 words; however that said this one is better than most.

A very clever thriller story, with a great twist at the end. There was both suspense and action a-plenty and your open ending - because we do and must wonder how this will develop - was perfect. Well done. Best wishes.

Very nicely written. Good work.
Very intriguing story. Nice twist.
She has a few things to learn about her trade-craft, though - the second man, and L'ombra sneaking up behind her.
Best wishes and good luck in the contest.
