Back in the day , things were made to last , including marriages/ relationships.
Today devices , appliances and yes even marriages or relationships don't last ..
Today younger people can t wait to have it all: they want the sex , own a house, a car but they are still immature and they are not willing to assume responsibilities when things get sour.
As soon as the first problems rise they are not willing to make an effort to stay together not even if babies, children are involved.
These poor kids then grow up in broken families, they feel lost and unwanted and they struggle in later life , lots turn to drugs to fill the void.
Yes, some people found solace in God and his love , other in a caring friend.
On a personal note , when my mother died , pa and I supported each other.
When pa passed away I was lost but 10 months later I started to think in rhyme and I wrote my first wee poem. ( July 2018) .

Divorce can harm children emotionally and it is a sad fact of life. We might heal much better from a physical accident rather than emotional harm that never seems to heal, a poignant write, fine rhymes and sad sentiments here, love Dolly x
