lol, I enjoyed being taken down the garden path before the reveal of what they're actually discussing. I like that it's down to where the reader's mind resides, how rude or not this is. Nice :-)

Mike, LOL, thanks, Terry.

You had be going there. It was quite a surprise to find out it was only a disagreement about how to make cornbread. Creative and enjoyable to read. I know the difference between a jalapeƱo vs an habanero pepper first hand. I lost the bet. Talk about painful. Good job.

Okay... You got me!
(Smirk)
So I think that famous Marilyn pose was from "The Seven Year Itch."--- although in this case you subliminally remind me she also starred in " Some Like it Hot!"
(That wasn't about cornbread either you clever writer you!)
I'll never look at cornbread quite the same!

Giggle...

Love the ending and what an amazing photo of Marilyn. This piece took me back to my own days of naivety. I tried so hard to keep up with the cool kids, but I was such a relic. And as such I became the target of so many set-ups. Thank you for reminding of my humiliating past.

Bob, I did not mean to bring up bad memories, try some Jalapeno cornbread and a Corna. Terry.

Lol! This is cute! You didn't let the reader in about the context of the conversation so we were in the dark and with that picture of the Marilyn Monroe statue, you led us astray from cornbread! I think this should do well in the contest!

Helen, LOL just for fun. Terry.

I knew it would not be about sex, because I could see that was what you were wanting the reader to think. However I did not expect it to be about cornbread and cooking! Well done.

Very amusing. You do a great job of giving the reader an idea of what you are talking about, Oh so politely, and then hit us with over-spiced cornbread. You can always give me an evening giggle. Thanks.

Very clever!!!
You are quite the flash writer!
You led the reader to think, naturally, that the couple was discussing sex, only to learn that they are in the kitchen baking!!!
Love this !!
This wee story made me smile, thank you for that:)
The photo was the absolutely perfect choice.
Well done Terry!!

LOL, you are very kind, thank you. Terry.

Jalapeno cornbread would be too stout for my blood. Aren't habaneros even hotter? Now ... I'm going to assume (and thereby keep your reputation unsullied) that the cornbread was to be eaten in the conventional manner? You lead me just far enough to wonder.

Jay, LOL, yes, Habaneros are much hotter than Jalapeno! Get your dirty mind out of the gutter, LOL, Terry.

Yes, it goes there automatically, and I have to remind myself there is a clean side of everything.

When you do not know the subject, almost any conversation can sound or seem salacious. This is especially true if you have the mindset to fuel the thoughts running wild in your dirty mind. :))

Nomi, You are right, thanks for reading! Terry.

Given the provocative photo of Marilyn Monroe taken from one of my all time favorite moves, "The Seven Year Itch" It did not take much to send my mind spiraling down that path.

You and Jay Squires and Tom Hornzy, LOL.
