Hi Heather,
This is a charming children's
story. I think many publishing
companies, especially for
children, have artists/illustrators an author
can choose from. I wanted to
self-publish 2 children's books
but they were too expensive.
Anyway, cute photo of the
cat and bunny too. You've
done well. Many blessings to
you.

    Thanks so much, Regina.
I have an ex-workmate whose brother is a published writer. He writes children's books and illustrates them himself. Unfortunately, I can't draw to save my life.
Maybe a friend could help you? Or you could come up with super simple drawings like the ones in the Mr Men stories.

Yeah, but you could get someone to help you with the drawings. This story is endearing, and I expect any child would just love it. Well, I certainly did, but then again I'm no child anymore. Only in my imagination. Ulla:)))

Same here. I love children?s books. My husband is great at drawing. Maybe when he retires in December, I?ll ask him for help. Thanks for reading.

Hello Heather,

I love your children's book story. It's very unique and relatable in our time. It's funny to think animals can be bullies or friends too. Well done!

I love the picture of the kitty and rabbit, Heather. This was an interesting story but I do feel that the tiny rabbit was really a poop disturber, lol. The kitty definitely got his justice. Very well done, greatly enjoyed. If you love to write and you can't draw, that's what they have talented people for. To publish, have an idea of what you want and go for it. Otherwise for here, there will others who can help you. ð???ð???ð?§¸

For the time being, I don?t think I have the necessary energy. Maybe when I retire. My husband is great at drawing, I might be able to convince him to help me. Xxx

You are so welcome, Heather. Ahhaa, so I can expect an increase in activity when you retire, lol. Grab hubby if he is great at drawing.

LOL! Just two years to go. If the law doesn?t change, I?ll be able to retire at 60.

A beautiful children's story with a moral behind it, to be a good friend we have to show empathy and understanding about another person's fear, much enjoyed Heather, love Dolly x

I like the plot of your children's story! You made us feel sorry for the cat becoming frightened by the rabbit's spreading conspiracies (ð???) so the cat gets him back. But importantly, they are able to make up and be friends again which is an important lesson for kids.

This is a delightful little story for young children. As a retired early childhood teacher, I know books are to teach a lesson. As teachers, we selected books to read based on our lesson plans. I guess in this instance the lesson is 'don't try to scare a friend.' If the cute picture you chose were a book cover, it would entice any young child to pick up the book.

I?m also a teacher, but I teach mature students.
I think there are quite a few of us here on FS.

You can do anything you set your mind to. Go to art class once a week. If you find a good teacher I promise you'll love it, and progress. And when you look at modern art, my opinion is we can all aspire to be artists. In the meantime your story is lovely. A little tit-for-tat to teach a moral. A little adventure and stepping out of our skins. It is sure to appeal to young children. Kate xx

I?m glad you liked it, Kate. Maybe when I retire, I?ll have time for art classes. Another possibility is doing it with my husband. He?s great at drawing.
BTW, I had to chuckle when I read what you wrote about modern art. I?m into more realistic paintings.
    Thanks for reading. x

I enjoyed your fun story, Heather. The picture was adorable. I
could see this as a book for kids. It has a great teaching point.
Your words are descriptive and create great imagery.

One thing I would suggest ~ cats don't lie on their backs unless
they are very comfortable, not scared.

'Mum has always said they twinkle in the sky,' [this is Little Cat, who is very shy.] The part in the [brackets needs to be written as descriptive sentences OR something like . . . in the sky, said shy Little Cat.

Thanks for sharing, Jan

    Hi Jan,
You?re right about cats not lying on their backs. Mine only does it when he wants food because he knows I find it funny. I only wrote it like this because I?ve personified them ( they talk, hold hands?).
You?re also right about the words in brackets, but I broke the rules on purpose this time because I liked it better like this. Thanks so much for your thorough review.
