It sounds like a nice payday for Amy.
Tough if Ali is very successful, Pat Rogers could lose his position and wealth, maybe declare go to jail and declare bankruptcy.

Hi Barbara, yes, rape is always a horrible thing, but this scumbag needs to be nailed and kept accountable. I sure hope Ali will succeed in that regard. Ulla:)))

How awful! I know it happens a lot, which is worse. Men seem to get off on being dominant, making the girl obey their demands. Usually they are men who can't do it in the normal way. I hope that awful man gets his comeuppance and not only has to pay, but goes to prison as well. Why do fathers believe the man? I'd have nothing more to do with my father if he was like that. This was a well written chapter, Barb, very well done. :)) Sandra xxx

How awful! I know it happens a lot, which is worse. Men seem to get off on being dominant, making the girl obey their demands. Usually they are men who can't do it in the normal way. I hope that awful man gets his comeuppance and not only has to pay, but goes to prison as well. Why do fathers believe the man? I'd have nothing more to do with my father if he was like that. What a horrible person. As for Amy's dad, I have no words to describe his failure. If something like this ever happened to any of my daughter's or my grand daughter, I would be in jail for manslaughter for sure. My oldest daughter kept from me for years the fact that a former boyfriend had tried to hurt her. Of course she held her own against him. My two daughters and my grand daughter are fighters who take no crap from any man. Those who have tried have learned to regret it.

This chapter presents an interesting slice of the story, well-paced and with excellent description. I enjoyed my read. But as you say, none of us ever writes perfectly. The problem is usually we know what we wrote, so that's what we see. A couple of things for you to consider:
"We'll go together. It wouldn't look right." > "It wouldn't look right. We'll go together."
Rogers used it to cause problems between Cord and her > Rogers had used it to cause problems between Cord and herself
I did research > I did some research
Cord's Matt's > double 's is ugly
