Congratulations on your milestone post! I did enjoy the read. I never talk to myself or my pen name, but I often have conversations with pets. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Oh, I definitely do that, too. My cat Freddie was just discussing with me why the squirrels in the garden have copied his tail styling.

Congratulations on this seven hundred and fiftieth post, Mike. A stream-of-consciousness dialogue with your alter ego. I like it!
Despite the rude comments he follows it with, I liked Fleedleflump's definition: Poetry is just your personality finding ways to stamp itself on the universe.
Well, the blank page is a kind of universe, isn't it?
Maybe we should burn these bits of paper over a midnight flame and watch our words ascend into the firmament where they truly belong.

Lol, thanks, Tony - I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'm often torn between the profound and the crude, as well as a good many other things that must coexist within a consciousness. This felt like a fun way to explore things :-)

This was a fun read for me. I often talk to myself but not this extensively. You may have introduced me to a new kind of therapy! Why do you keep rhyming, Tina?
Seriously, you seem to push yourself to excellence with your very intentional poems. I appreciate your efforts here!

Thanks, Tina :-). I wanted to write a piece about me but I can't bring myself to do it straight, so I thought this would be a fun way to approach it!
