gently tunes drift through the mind
as you pick up your quill to unwind
the day is long the night seems to be
a ribbon of endless misery
oh tie the cord off and give me my place
freedom from this awful space
there into the image set before
you reach for the poets door
you open slowly what will you find
as you allow yourself to unwind
you let you free and find you can be
what it is you need to be free
for into this world nothing is wrong
there is no sickness no you do not belong
they do not see you as you sit right there
the grey streaks that line your hair
so set us all on freedoms wing
oh gentle poet please do sing

I read this poem and took it as a beautiful love poem to be shared with that someone special. In this instance love is not just for the lover, but for the child or someone else that bear significance. I like it.

Oh, Shelley Kaye, whatca doin' here today?
Are you gettin' comfy with yout big brown bear?
That panda's kinda cute, but when I won it I said, 'Shoot!'
I'll gonna do my best to send if over there.

One of these times, I'm gonna write some rhymes,
When I do. then I'll go a huntin' me some bear.
Yep, just like Davy Crockett, I will shoot up like a rocket.
I'll give you back your panda on the square.

you smiled in this poem. Life is a mystery and our emotions race through our souls as we travel through this world. your poem flowed and ofcourse danced with the radiance of your soul.

Hullo ShelleyKaye ....
This is a particularly lovely addition to your series of thought-provoking
writing and it is specially interesting because of the way you have taken the words which King Slaton wrote to you and used them to form this happy little work.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
With love from ...... Nanette Mary.

Liked it as I usually do your writing. A bit different but that's what makes it so charming. Good expression and imagery, good format.

Love Defined by shelley kaye
OK Shelley I read the notes and I see what is going on here. King slaton wants you to be happy go luck miss poet, make everyone feel good, but this kind of "joy writing" could catch on! And where would all the tears go? All the piety? Well I don't know and do not care, I like this side of your work.

And love is life . . . it is the end all the only worth - this love we feel for ourselves and others. Nicely done, simply put and lovely presentation. Kairos
