Loved your picture and your vivid descriptions were a joy to read. Lovely rhyme and excellent use of alliteration made for a smooth read.
Well done. Happy I have one more 6.

Blessings

Great photo and well-chosen words to describe where you live and all the benefits that it provides. I miss the years we lived in the country, but glad I do not live there alone now.

Anne, I understand that there is a time for all seasons. I pray my Lord will allow me many more seasons where I live for now. Thank you for your review and comments.

Your contest entry is beautifully presented, JLR. I enjoyed reading
it. Your picture is awesome--so beautiful. I imagine many hours
were spent and continue to be taking care of the yard. It would be
an awesome place to spend time communing with nature. I liked
the way you gave your poem three sections. Each one was descriptive
with smooth flow ad great imagery. I liked the description of the
critters that visit. Yes, you have your own version of Eden.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Jan, thank you for your kind words! Yes, we are so very fortunate to live in such as peaceful place. All important, however, is to remind myself to stop and just breathe in the present moment. 🙏🙏

Ions the picture. It goes well with your poem.

You've done a good job in describing how plants and trees's reaction to our nature( rain).

I like " dreams of precious fine-cut emeralds
brought to my doorstep," I start praying to make it come true.

You could be talking about my back yard. Nicely done in free verse. North Carolina looks a lot like Maine in your picture. My brook runs into a lake instead of a river.

In my opinion, a jewel of a write indeed, penned by a truly gifted aesthetic soul - smoothly fluid in its free verse rhythm and striking landscape symmetry - beautiful, inspired and inspiring...

How fortunate. You paint such a welcoming picture of your back yard with your very descriptive words. It sounds like my daughters back yard, in fact.

Very nicely written and so soothing.

I love this for the words, almost as much as the thought! To treasure the beauty of nature, means we do so because we cannot make it ourselves. We can't buy it either, unlike jewelry. This poem has a 'holy' feel to it, reverent and special because your free verse flows so smoothly. I found no errors but just one teeny suggestion that is not a correction, but an idea...
Oh, so still. Take away the exclamation point, so still really is still:)
Wonderful treasure of a poem! You should do well in the contest!
Tina

The author's words are nature based, meaningful, interesting, descriptive
and creative. I pondered on the author's words which express with details
a paradise! The poem conveys a place well loved and appreciated. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome!

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. The photo is marvelous as is the poem. I like the way you spaced the poem and described the animals. I enjoyed reading and wish you luck with the contest.
