Thank you for sharing that the old nursery rhyme inspired you! And thank you for giving definitions too. I really enjoyed this. Especially the second paragraph. You brought the flowers to life, I could see them in my minds eye. Your sonnet made me smile! Thank you

I think most of us, that are of mature years would remember that nursery rhyme, I can't remember when I learnt them, but I can recite them flawlessly, and yet I can't remember my own poems, this is a beautifully written sonnet and entry in this acrostic rhyming contest, a worthy entry, good luck, blessings Roy

This was an excellent classical sonnet with it's tale of nature and the cultivation of the garden, with the added attraction of an unforced acrostic element. Good entry for this contest. Kate xx

This was an interesting entry for the Rhyming Acrostic Contest.

I liked your poem but the rhymes need some work. However, I'm not an expert.

Goodluck in the contest.

I appreciate your response to my sonnet, Gypsy. There are so many kinds of rhyme, but most aficionados like TRUE rhyme (where the sound is EXACTLY the same). I chose to employ a SIGHT rhyme with "scents" and "plants" just for sound variety.

That is quite a garden. Roberta has her work cut out for her. What a thrill to be able to go out into your own flower garden and snip a bouquet for the day.

Good job on the acrostic part too. Not always a simple task.

Pleasing read.

Hi, Gary. Roberta does have a unique garden. One reviewer told me that not all the flowers I mentioned bloom at the same time, but I took poetic license. Many thanks for your kind praise.

Well, they don't need to bloom at the same time to make a great garden or to write a fun poem about one. My wife tries to plant flowers that will bloom at different times, so she has flowers throughout the year. That's how I envisioned this garden of yours.

This acrostic poem, Roberta's Garden, follows the vertical first-letter theme and brings us to the floral site where amazing flowers are tended and adored by Roberta. Charming.

I liked the sonnet feel of this acrostic rhyming poem. I was surprised at the wide variety of flowers which do not bloom at the same times or in the same climate. But it's nice to imagine such a bouquet.
Best wishes in the contest!

Ah, lyenochka, you must be a gardener to know when all those flowers bloom. I confess I took poetic license in my sonnet. Many thanks for sharing.

Still it was expertly written so your poem has my vote!

The author's words are lovely, nature based, clear, are descriptive and creative. I found these words expressed well with details and with love
for a garden. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is
awesome and compliments both the theme and words of this poem.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of Roberta's Garden. The variety of flowers is amazing - from gardenias to the rose of sharon. This is not an easy format - a rhyming acrostic. And you have succeeded in painting with words a lovely scenario. Should do well in the contest
