A good haiku, for me, evokes peacefulness. This one does exactly that...which, when you consider that it's talking about thunder, is pretty impressive. It also sounds lyrical when I read it aloud, like music.
And a THOUSAND posts??!! You're as tenacious as you are talented!! Beautiful work with this one.

Thank you Rachelle. I was surprised when that 1000 marker popped up. I had no idea... and to think that this time five years ago, I had never written a line... except for high school requirements. I am enjoying this work so much!!

Pretty flow and sound to my ears when I hear it out loud; like a lullaby. This is very peaceful and has a calm feel. I really like the picture to go along with it. One idea would be to change the title so that we're not expecting what's inside the Haiku piece; again, just an idea. Though, if you like it just the way it is keep it. Because art really is in the eye of the beholder. Anyways, overall great piece with a special beauty to it.

Hello Melbelles... thank you for your wonderful words of encouragement. I may be wrong, but I have always heard that when posting a haiku that it is written this way... where the beginning line is in parentheses. I will double check on that and make sure. Thanks again.

Oops, I did not know this. Just looked it up, and you?re right. I knew about the syllable count but, I never heard about the title having a rule; I guess I?m a rule breaker. This is good to know, thank you Melissa. Have a great rest of your day!
