Yup. Both things are true. Writing is an action...and words can cut as sharp as any knife when wielded with anger or bitterness! Another fine contest winner that I am reviewing super late! (I'm sorry....I'd give you a tardy note but...)

Oh, congratulations! I had read some of the cliches and thought many of them were great. I like the way you put those two together as if they belong. Great job.

Good work with the cliches. A friend at my local writing club handed out four sheets of closely written cliches. Some we hear all the time and don't realize they are cliches. Congrats on you contest win.

They are both cliches use by writers that draws our audiences into different world. The irony is when writing we are told never used in our writing cliches.

And I think the reason for that, if I remember right, is because they are clichés that have been around forever and we are supposed to be original as writers. So that is why this prompt was kinda fun, because it instructed us to use clichés that could work for or against each other. So that made the taboo a lot more fun. Because it was allowed. Thanks for your kind review and comments my friend!

That was a well deserved win, Debi, the perfect cliche and another to knock the first one off its perch!! Lol. Very well done. I looked at the contest, but my brain isn't bright enough to do things like that. LOL. Well done, dear friend. I hope you are a bit better, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

Sandra you are so sweet and I appreciate your kind review and comments so much. I am still in the hospital but I miss home so much. They have a strict visitor policy, that it has to be the same two, but my Dr made arrangements to get my husband and son in too. They want to send me to transitional care when I leave and I refused, so they will be sending all my therapists and home health care, just as they can get my vitals stable and bloodwork on track. It was terribly scary, but I think I maybe it of the woods. Or at least getting closer. .... Anyway thanks again my sweet friend!

Hello author, well done, well said. You've penned two powerful cliches. Each cliche has a meaning of its own, and yet your poem brings them together so eloquently. Your artwork is terrific. I can't help but to wonder where you found this artwork. Your poem beautifully illustrates the
yin and yang of cliches. Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing.

Thanks so much Margaret! I appreciate so much that you liked it and love that you liked Kenzie's artwork. I didn't dare tell before the contest but now I am so proud to put it in my description of the poem. Thanks again for the kind review and comments my dear friend!

Those are two very famous cliches and are especially important to writers. I didn't read the full contest rules but I thought two cliches were supposed to be mixed up in an unusual way. But I'm glad you entered the contest! Good ones to choose.

Thanks Helen. It must have been confusing because there were two cliches contests going at once. The one I was in was to find two or more and find the difference or similarities between them. The other one was to mix them up. But thank you for your very kind review my friend.
