It seem as though poetry provides you with an outlet to express your emotions and feelings.
I appreciate your openness and honesty.
I lost my dad a few years ago so I understand that emptiness.
I love that you included a photo, he does resemble Elvis.

I am also very close to my father and I can not imagine the pain and hole that has been left by such a foundation in your life. I loved the way you added your personal connection with his "nickname". You allowed us in to this hurting part of your soul and I thank you for the opportunity to continue his memory a little bit longer.

For most children , fathers are their first heroes. They can make everything right.
I was about 12 when I realised that my father was not perfect and could not fix nor knew everything.
That said , fathers still remain important and loved figure with their flaws.
My condolences for the passing of your father. I do see a resemblance with a young Elvis!

Thank you Jake. He was a good singer and liked to ham it up a lot and try to sing like Elvis. I will miss him dearly.

It will make your poignant line about your dad more prominent. You may consider making the text bold too. That will make it even more prominent as your dad was for you!
