You have made effective use of your few syllables in this sincere, honest prayer that, ues, the Lord will hear--and answer in His own time. Being patient is hard, for sure!

Your Faith 5-7-5 delivers a truth that all believers have experienced at some point. God answers prayer in His own time. Your chosen photo and poetry pair perfectly. Best wishes in the contest.

Excellent entry for the Faith 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. It's hard to hear God sometimes.
Good syllables count and connection between lines with great presentation and imagery. It flows well with descriptive words that paint a clear mental picture.
Good luck in the contest.

Well done 5-7-5 poem and poem of faith. I especially liked:
(Sometimes, that part's hard.)
Poet, I've come to accept that sometimes God does not give us what we want because it may not be good for us. I think He has saved me more times than not for not giving me what I want, especially when I was young and foolish ... now I'm just old and foolish. Still needing Him.
Well done. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

Thank you, Late Bloomer...and I could not agree with you more!! Soo many times, I have thanked G-d for having NOT given me something I (thought) I wanted.
I appreciate this wonderful review and also the well-wishes for the contest.

I loved your play on words with "Birthday Presence." And as for this piece, well how can so much be said it so few words. It nice to know that prayer is a contractual offer, but legally defined a contract is agreed upon by two parties. Most never listen for the answer.

...or never acknowledge that it IS the answer! Do you know the joke about that? Child says, "I prayed to G-d, but He didn't answer me."
Parent replies, "Yes, He did. His answer was 'no.' "

mine are answered... "not nyet, but not yet." :-)

Hahaha. good one.

Patience. Sometimes it takes time for things to turn around. It is better to do things at a steady rate than try to hurry things up. You will have a much greater outcome letting thing occur as they are supposed to. As the old saying, "Rome was not built in a day." Thank you for sharing your great poem.

My husband likes to say, "It never works when you try to force things." The Beatles said it, too, right? "Let It Be." Easier said than done a lot of times, though.
Thanks for your input with this nice review. Very much appreciated/

Yes, the trusting God and releasing all the outcomes to Him when we have our own desired outcomes which we ask of Him. Great entry to the faith 5-7-5 contest. Best wishes in the contest!

With as exceptional and highly ranked an author as you are, Ivenochka, when you sanction something I've written, it means the world. Thank you for this really encouraging review. Very much appreciated.
-
Thank you for the lofty compliments. But you know the Fanstory ranking has more to do with frequency not quality. There are more gifted poets who post infrequently. Blessings and keep writing!

Throughout my years of teaching private voice and piano lessons, I have learned that adults have the HARDEST time accepting compliments! What I do when they eschew something nice I've said is to say back, "When someone gives you a compliment, you're supposed to say 'thank you.' Let's practice! Mrs. Jones, your fingering and expression on that last piece was lovely." The adult student will then give me a little smirk, look down, and respond, "Thank you!" So...Ivenochka, I really admire the fact that you are an exceptional, highly ranked poet." Now it's your turn. What's your response? (Make me proud here...)

Lol! Thank you!!!

This is an interesting approach on faith simply placing the picture of a boy along with your poem. Excellent work! No grammatical errors. Thank you for sharing! Good luck in the contest!

Thank you. I looked at a lot of pictures of people in the midst of prayers, but this was the one that spoke to me and seemed like the perfect complement to the 5-7-5 poem. I appreciate your feedback.

A poignant write as believing without seeing can be a hard task, but faith always helps us to have hope. A poignant write and I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Yes, trust is hard but that challenge makes us strong. We all need our pain - like flowers need the rain. Growth does not happen in our comfort zone. The thing or the person who 'appears' to be the source or cause of our pain is actually an instrument in our awakening; a tool being used to open new opportunities - like the forest needs the fire.
