This is an adorable example of a domino rhyme! Great little story for children highlighting the kindness of a sparrow towards a lonely quail. Lessons learned that can help adults as well! I enjoyed the read.

This poem is excellent in every respect--creatively and skillfully composed in an appealing style and so moving in its inspiring message about the
blessing of just ONE good friend!

This early in the morning I just have to trust you have accomplished the Domino effect in this poem. The rhyme in this form is so well hidden it is not recognizable. (IMHO)
On the other hand I love the story you tell here, Yvonne. To me the call of the Quail is akin to the call of the loon in the water bird family. Well done, Dear. This form takes some concentration. Nancy:) xxx

This was indeed a great Domino Rhyme, damommy. What a wonderful picture. I actually felt a sadness in the lonesome quail and it was a brave sparrow that saw the need and filled the deed. Very well done, sadly but yet greatly enjoyed.

You did an awesome job, Yvonne, with a complex style.
Your words flowed smoothly with correct rhymes and
great meter. The image was perfect, too. I like the theme
which is well expressed. We don't think of critters being
lonesome, but why not? We can learn so much from animals
if we weren't so conceited. The little sparrow took the
initiative to become friends with the quail. What a sweet
idea and a great teaching moment for young children.
Friendships among those who are 'different' is reason to
celebrate.
Thanks for participating, Jan

This was such an interesting post. I don't know if these two birds actually interact but do eat the same kind of food. I have feeders out where I can sit and watch. There are both sparrows and quail that come to feed there. I have a flat stump that I put food out and have pictures of the two eating there. What a fun summer hobby.

How nice you get to see them. I've watched raccoons and possums eat together, and also with the cats. Thanks for reviewing.

-Nice image and presentation.
-You did a good job with this form.
-A good topic and poem that tells a story.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-You set the scene and mood with
"the lonesome quail."
-I like the personification of the sparrow
as it decides to offer comfort to the quail.
-A very good concluding verse showing
the friendship between the quail and the sparrow.
-Well done!

A strange little story but it demonstrates the domino rhyme most effectively. And are they seen together, these two species? Nature creates some strange bedfellows like the remora fish and the shark.

I love watching videos were different species make friends. On my deck, I've watched raccoons, possums, and cats eating together. Thanks for reviewing.
