What an unusual subject for a 3-line 5-7-5 poem. However, you make it work by saying so much in what isn't actually said. We know that the woman is strong and tough and that, while she may smile on the outside, and while it might even be genuine, you don't want to cross her. We also know that she's worked her way up through the ranks - and all this from just 10 words and 17 syllables. That's impressive.
