This is a gorgeous poem with each word selected carefully to combine into wonderful description. My favorite was the personification of the dead leaves in a death rattle. Good luck in the contest.

hmm powerful poem about quantum mechanics and the hidden workings of the world. Almost meta poetic as it covers deep cosmic thoughts. Like the author notes it helps understand the poem.

I love this poem. You did a good job in describing the changes of flowers going through different changes of weather. You started with a ruckus, then magnolia, multiple berries and finally ligustrum.

Thanks for sharing

To one without vision, Nature is static with nothing much happening. The learned observer however, observes the dynamic workings of nature which are powerful, busy and ever changing, growing, dying, being reborn, always active, always busy.

This is an excellent, deeply meaningful, and--I think--symbolic piece. As we obeserve the birth, flourishing, and death of nature's flora and fauna, we can see the parallels in humanity.

A fine free-write with some vivid descriptions and I enjoyed the scene here as you walked through your visions, much enjoyed, privet is abundance around gardens in Britain to keep the neighbours out, love Dolly x

C2,
This poem gives strong images of your yard and garden. Interesting bird statue. I like the sound effects too. You cut away the dead to allow it to resuruect next year and let other plants grow stronger.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Happy 4th of July.
Joan

I can imagine you sitting in your backyard, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine nearby, a pad of paper on your lap and a pen in hand, listening and watching and recording . . .

This is a fine poem full of life (and death), with a bit of an unexpected ending - I thought the pecan tree was going to get the axe!

A pleasure to read:-)

Hi C2,
you hit the brief in this format with a hell of a smack against the window, only to be swaying back in contemplation of buds yet to open.

A see-saw ride in between life and death in a gentle and tempered style.

There is a calmness that chimes into an organised chaos at the same time as I read. The beauty use of words and rich language make for a very visual journey around your backyard... and may I say, what a magic backyard you have.

Verse such as...
everything fixed
by some quantum sleight-of-hand--
an observer collapsing waves
into this radiant garden

slowly, invisibly
but with no less efficacy
entropy--no theory here--
works its own collapse...

Really, just a well thought out and constructed poem in this form.

Truly enjoyed reading this C2.

All the very best in this contest.

With our thoughts we create...
perspective.

Kind regards,
James.
