Hi Joan, thank you for Sharing my Gunsmoke memories with me. I still watch it, but the hubby would rather watch the news. So I'm just an old western lover. Thanks for the lovely review my friend!

You're welcome. I was going to say it was before my time. But then I looked in up. It was on until I was 15. I think I watched Bonanza The Lone Ranger instead of Gunsmoke.

Thanks Sandra, I still watch it lots as I keep my bedroom on the insp channel on dish network, then watch all the old western movies too. Actually I watch them more than my husband. Thanks so much for the great review and comments my friend!

I keep learning about new forms of poetry on this site. Thanks for a fun introduction (for me) to Tyburn verse. I especially like the nostalgia of this piece.... I used to listen to Gunsmoke on the radio (pre-TV).

I wonder how many of us even remember GUNSMOKE. I had forgotten Festus's name (never liked him). Matt Dillon was my hero as a boy. Maybe he still is. I enjoyed your choice of rhymes. Rod

The first novel I wrote was a western, and I still read Louis L?Amour, but I seldom watch westerns, even YELLOWSTONE.

Gun smoke was a wonderful series from long ago. And, I'm still amazed that James Arness not only played Matt Dillon, but also the huge creature in THE THING back in the early 50s. I think you did very well in remembering this great TV show. Good luck in the contest.

Hahaha! I did not realize that James Arness played that role. I thought I had seen everything he has ever been in, so now must take a look for that one one of the wifi channels. I still watch it everyday on our dish network channel on insp. I like the old westerns even more than my husband. The old stuff is the best. Anyway thanks Victor for the awesome review and comments down memory land. : )

Yep me too Nomi. I still watch it lots as I keep my bedroom on the insp channel on dish network, then watch all the old western movies too. I boycotted the news a couple years ago so when my husband watches them, I go watch those old shows. I am a big Matt, Festus, Doc Adams and Kitty fan. I never have figured out why she and Matt never once kissed on the show, yet they had an understanding. So when this different poetry contest came up I was able to find some words that went together for it. A little bit of a challenge, but it was fun. Lol, my bad guy did end up on Boot Hill. Just like you said. Thanks so much my friend for reviewing my poem and I truly appreciate your fun comments. As Festus would say, golly bill, them was da good ole days.

That is certainly a weird prompt. You have done a really good job with it. I was a Gunsmoke fan years ago. Those kind of shows are gone forever.

Thanks Pam, it was kind of a fun and different contest. And since I am such a big Gunsmoke fan, I just had to try it. It was a bit of a challenge at first but think it would be fun to try again. Thank you for the awesome review my friend!

Thank you so much for your kind review and words, but with all due respect, and I am saying this in a kind tone Whenever you review especially a different type of poem, read about them and their examples before you give this kind of a rating. That will show you that there was no way to force any rhymes. They said to use rhymes or near rhymes, with instructions to incorporate them together in a certain order. I went one step further and not only put them in the order, but unlike the examples, I made them into sentences. It's always important to read that before reviewing..

I've never written a poem like this and I can imagine it's challenging. You did a fantastic job. Gunsmoke was/is one of my dad's favorite shows so you get extra points for that lol. Best of luck with your entry in the upcoming contest
