Good ole' Matt Dillon. Probably my favorite western ever that was on TV anyway. Having so few words to work with you succeeded very nicely in getting the point across, don't mess with Matt.

My favorite too.. I have no clue what regular tv is about anymore. I keep my bedroom tv on those channels and even watch more Gunsmoke than my husband! Thanks Gary for the awesome review and fun comments!!!j

I'm assuming this poem relates to the show Gunsmoke, but I have never seen gunsmoke before, so I was glad to be able to follow the story of your poem regardless. I also really liked the flow of this poem. Good luck on the contest!

I appreciate this salute to one of my favorite old tv shows. I also appreciate the effort that went into adhering to a particular scheme while conveying something interesting and enjoyable! I can hear Festus' voice in your poem,lol. Great job in checking all of the technical and artistic boxes too!

Loved this. For the past few years, I worked as a caregiver for an elderly man in the bay area, and he watched Gunsmoke every single day, at least one episode. Much as I could keep him away from the TV, he still demanded at least some time for the show, and this poem is a pure reminder of that. Thank you.
the rhyme and cadence lend themselves well to the voice of Festus, and in these few words is an essence of the show that can't be ignored. Honestly, I don't have much else to say. I'll add that I think million whim is a little bit of a stretch, but for the flow of the poem, it works well.

Clever use of the show Gunsmoke as a basis for this Tyburn Poem. As far as I can tell, you have the technical aspect down to a tee, but whether the younger brigade will have any idea what your poem is about is a query!

Thank you so very much for your awesome and fun review. I still watch the show every night because now insp is showing more colored ones that I don't remember. It was something different and the poem was a lot of fun for mu first time. Thank you again my friend for the walk down memory lane of the show together. I thought of trying this but I know better.
You appear to have followed the rules although I think one or two rhymes are off but don't quote me.
I like the twang language appropriate for the subject matter

Hi Katie, I truly appreciate you reading and reviewing my poem, and I mean this in a kind way and most respectably. But it is probably always best to read the instructions of especially those newer poems before giving a rating. In this particular one it says to use rhymes or near rhymes and the examples that they gave weren't perfect rhymes. I do very much appreciate the kind comments as I think you are such a lovely person. So thank you my friend.

Thank you so very much for such an awesome review. I had never heard of this kind of poem before but it was lots of fun. My husband laughs at me because I watch the show more than he even does, but I love old westerns and have no idea what modern day tv even looks like anymore.
