This is so fun and precious! This true for the aging female and those pounds seem to fly through the atmosphere.

Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest,

This is absolutely too funny, as I sit here reading and eating M&Ms candy coated peanuts. This poem is me. I'm two inches shorter than I used to be and have lower back pain even though I sit on a special pillow, while wearing a tunic top. Hahaha! Great job!

You sound like me! except it's chocolate sea salt caramels - or whatever's handy. :) thank you so much for the 6.
I know what you mean about lower back pain. I just had my first (and I wish last) cortisone shots in the nerves in my lower back. not fun. But your descriptions of our similarities made me laugh. Thanks for that, too!

This is so great. A delight to read. The last line is priceless "I writes, therefore I sits. You have great, rollicking rhyme and flow. It's so true. Those things happen to you if you sits and writes. I think I've lost a couple of inches (In height, not around the waist. I would definitely not recommend hanging upside down. Your daughter would be welcome to try it herself. I'm sure this would have been a winner if you had entered. Congratulations on your latest win. judi

    thanks so much, Judi!!!
I'm with you - not around the waist, either, therefore tunic tops, bless 'em.
One writer suggested i try writing plays. I know you do. Is there a good instructional book you'd recommend? Your details setting up a scene are so thorough.

Down with belts1 The only book I have is The Complete Book of Scriptwriting by J. Michael Straczynski. It covers every type of script--movie,T V, animated, stage, radio. The best thing would be to read some scripts and see how they're structured. judi

You can probably find plenty of scripts at your library. The book I mentioned just touches the surface. judi

It's amazing what a little euphoria can do, if drink can create that, then surely it can only enhance one's ability to let the internal river, or in my case Brook, to flow, all's well and good, great post, most of us who've seen a little water flow under the bridge, can definitely relate. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

thanks so much, Roy. I think the shrimp and grits help as much if not more in creating euphoria :)
    And blessing to you, too.

I just love this. It mad me smile as I can relate, I am getting older and my body is falling apart. This is well written and flows well. I can see anyone enjoying this, and anyone in my age bracket relating to it. Well done.

And it's just a super read about our bodies and how we view them and how they change with the passage of time= a wonderful humorous touch to raise a chuckle

It is indeed good fun that you obviously had with this one. i enjoyed the whole thing very much. I especially liked the bit about hanging upside down. I do that every day, as sitting to write makes my feet ache. The only solution is to lie upside down from the bum downwards (in position normal) - but then of course I can't write (or indeed do anything very much). Kate xx

You do? but then, how do you get up? I'm afraid I'd be there forever. Actually my daughter was talking about those spherical things that roll, (I think they do) that you could not pay me to get into.
Thanks, Kate. I appreciate your reading my stuff and I'm glad you liked it. Best wishes to you.
