This dog is cute. And Mabel has got it made in the shade, lol. I like the picture. It sounds like she is well loved and taken great care of. I enjoyed reading your great story. They are like children. Thank you for sharing.

Aw, Mabel the Corgi is beautiful. My brother in law has two corgis and they have lovely personalities (and endless energy!). I really enjoyed reading about her royal eating habits - she has the human trained well!

I love your very royal pup. I think she actually thought she was Dutchess because she truly appeared to hold the poise and especially since she was so thrilled to be spoiled by her family who loved her. Awesome story

This is lovely, funny and sweet. I wasn't into dogs, but nine years ago my daughter was going through a bad patch and I got her a Westie. The sweetest, most adorable dog I've ever met. She loves everybody in the family, every dog and dog owner she meets in the street.
She turned nine a few days ago and I cannot imagine life without her. That's the only disadvantage of having pets.
Good luck in the contest. I think you deserve it.

You are right about the disadvantage. We had to let two of our dogs cross the bridge last year. A sad time but memories remain. Thanks for your review.

That's sad. But it's better to look at it the way you do. Optimism is very important in this world of ours.

Mabel looks and sounds wonderful but spoild lol.
How much love can a doggy give? No limit. They are truly men/women/child best friend.
Great entry for the ~ The Best Dog ~ writing prompt contest. I love the presentation and poem.
Good luck in the contest.

This is very good. Nice choice to go with the rhymed options. You do a good job showing the readers the personality of you job, with clear examples. This should be hit with pet owners and easily followed by everyone.

This poem was adorable. I gave my dog a royal title, too, and I have come to regret it. She truly believes herself to be nobility now. I loved reading about your Mabel. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Yes, the picture of Mabel does show a royal attitude, Wils.
I enjoyed reading your well written contest entry about
your sweet little dog. I've never seen a corgi up close--
only in pictures. Your descriptive words allowed me a
glimpse of what could be.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

To put an Aussie spin on it she is a stubborn little bugger but you gotta love her for that. Glad you enjoyed

Duchess/Mabel does appear to rule her domain. I love how you describe the way she eats hand-fed and with dignity. And her picture shows her lying proudly on her bed.

Thanks for your review. I always thought the human was supposed to train the dog. Something tells me the opposite has happened here!!
