An Ode to Humpwhistle

This was an awesome story of recognizing Humpwhistle's writing and style. As always, your writing was superb on your humble take on others writing. While I agree he is very good, I always love reading your simple, down to earth willingness to praise others. Yet, I do have to admit your shoutout felt pretty darn good and I thank you for that very much. I just think it's time for someone to write an ode to Terry Broxson. And it is true that even while you are giving the limelight to others, you are impressing your audience with your great writing. Awesome job my friend!

Ah, a clever, clever piece here, Terry. I, too, am a huge fan of Humpwhistle (whom I believe is Lee Hill--probably you already know that). Whenever I see a new post, I drop what I am doing and delve in. Thanks for this fun "ode" to our brightest star.

Mama Baer, Thank you for six stars!!! Mr. Humpwhistle did deny the rumor that he is in fact Lee Child. But I have never seen them in the same room...just saying. I am delighted you enjoyed the fun piece, and he did too. Terry

This is a well written piece in comparing our writing with a famous and excellent written.
Writing is not to compete. I find writing is to express creativity. I like writing fictions. People can come up with any stories, funny, scaryï¼? romantic etc.
I trust what you said that Mr. Humpwhistle is a wonderful writer! I don't believe he will always be the winner and no other person can beat him.
This is a good piece for the completion. Luckily you are not competing with him.
Good luck to your contest and Thanks for sharing.

Your story about online dating is very good. You should read some of Hump's work it is excellent, and in contests like this one he is hard to beat, but then I am not Humpwhistle.
I wrote my story for fun and to honor him. I don't care about the contest, good luck.

I thought this was an excellent piece to read. I am not a poet either, just dabble in it. So don't worry about me writing an ode either. I've read almost everything Mr. Humpwhistle has written. He is an excellent writer. Good luck in the contest. Shirley

I've got to pay more attention to Mr. Humpwhistle. I am a great fan of Lee Child. The first two movies were great - even though Tom Cruise did not measure up physically.

Paul, I 100% agree with you about Tom Cruise. The new TV series on Amazon the guy looked the part. Thank you for reading, Terry.

I've got to get on Amazon and check that out.

I take it this "Humpwhistle" is on FanStory?
Para 2, 2nd sentence: (greek) should be (Greek) capitalize country names
Para 2, 3rd sentence: Add comma after (So)
Para 2, 3rd sentence: Remove one paragraph space after (sports.)
Para 6, 2nd sentence: Add comma after (So)
Para 8, 3rd sentence: Change (Child,) to (Child;) Both clauses can stand alone so a semi-colon is advised.
Para 11, 2nd sentence: I wanted to write an exception to (Exactlys) for spelling, but it fit so well with what you were saying that spelling had to take a back seat. Sometimes we just have to write what we say.
I am leaving now to go look for Mr. Humpwhistle and his fabulous offerings. Thanks for the name drop.

Yes Anon,
Exactly - second can be a win. But, perhaps it should be 'owed' to Mr. Humpwhistle, given that those who attend his writing may learn, without cost, and in the gentlest and most entertaining of manners.
We are all here to learn, and to teach - each in our own way. You too have an easy style and this was a very comfortable read: thank you.
I wish you well with your continued writing...
cheers

This was great writing and worthy of posting and reading. But for a person who claimed not to be sure of what 'Ode' meant, you sure wrote a great ode to Mr. Humpwhistle.

Hello Friend,
Nice piece of Non-Fiction having lucid as well as PERFECTLY matching the theme phraseology, CAPTIVATING flow throughout from the very beginning up to the end, and depicting the MEANING/DEFINATION of Ode plus Mr. Humpwhistle's chief characteristics in a very INTERESTING way.
BEST OF LUCK in the contest.
