Hi Mike, this poem is a charming write about your
beloved cat. I think tiger tabbies are quite pretty. Cats
are so mysterious, I feel they're the ones who rule the
household, even if there's
dogs in the house, lol!!
All the best ~

Aww, thank you! Freddie certainly believes he's the master of all he surveys, and I think he's probably right :-)

Hello Fleedleflump, very good, very cute. It's easy to see why Freddie is such a fun and loving cat and family companion. I especially liked:

our ginger boy with snowy paws,
(Good descriptive writing)

A fun poem that made me smile. Great photo. Freddie really has the life. I can see why this was a contest winner. Well done. LateBloomer

Thank you :-). I loved all the entries and I'm a sucker for cats so I was thrilled when Freddie won! When I told him, he yawned and wandered off, so he's excited too lol.

He's adorable. He sounds so full of life. Mine don't chase things so much any more. They're fifteen. They still love to snuggle on my chest and purr.

Thank you, Cindy :-). We have two 15 year olds as well, but they will play with Freddie occasionally (or give him a clout when he's annoying them!).

Excellent entry for the ~ Here Kitty, Kitty ~ writing prompt contest.

Good rhyme form, it doesn'tseem forced. I like the cat theme..it's cute. Nice presentation.

Good luck in the contest.

This cat poem, He's Freddie, gives the readers a profile of a cat which could easily be the greatest natural gift to mankind since the navel orange. ............................................................................................................

Mike, Freddie, it seems from this excellent poem, has captured the heart of the household with his feline antics and colorful presence. Quite a nice entry and I wish you good success!

I enjoyed meeting and getting to know the furry member of your family, Freddie!

My favourite line is :

His plume is like a periscope. ( biggrin) .

Keep safe!

Very nice! I would like to meet Freddie - he seems like a good friend. Also, I really like the rhythm of your poem. It is very familiar to me, and I don't remember where it's from - just the rhythm and form of the poem, I'm not accusing you of plagiarism or anything. And I find that the rhythm and form of the poem fit your words very nicely. Another job well written! Good luck on the contest!

Thank you, Donna :-). I often find I'm following the rhythm of a song I've heard recently, so it might be that. It certainly felt as though it fitted our little fur baby!

Your poem is a great entry for this prompt. Your love for this pet shines in every delightful line. The words are descriptive, and the format/style is very creative.

I am owned by two cats, so I can relate to your words. Freddie sounds like quite the cat. Your smooth poetic form describes him well and his character comes out quite clearly. I like the verse about how he makes his bed anywhere, my cats do the same.
