You make me want to be there. I can remember events like this, way back when I was a kid. I'd better not try it today or I probably wouldn't be able to get up. You hit on all the highlights of those, laying on the grass looking up at the clouds, moments.

The author's words are nature based, beautiful, comforting, encouraging,
descriptive and creative. I pondered on the scene the author's words
paint throughout this poem. Nature is where I find God so this poem
conveys so well the beauty of creation. The artwork is awesome!

This is a well-written free verse poem on nature. I enjoyed reading it. The font could be a tad larger. There are many older writers like me on this site. The visual selected fits well. The title High is okay, but with the descriptions of nature in this poem, I would call this poem "Natural High". I love the last line of your poem. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for your kind words. I did have it in a bigger font. Due to space constraints, the bigger font broke up the poem in a way that I did not want it to be broken up. I used the biggest font that I could to achieve the effect I wanted.

"My soul hitches a ride on the breeze gliding over the treetops" is a perfect line that makes the reader feel like she is floating in nature. Excellent free verse form that takes the reader to another place.
