This is a well written poetic prayer both showing your faith and your empathy for all who need to find love and new belief in the world.
Congratulations on placing second in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

I can say amen to all this.

The part about fathers reminded me of my lovely friend in South Africa. She's not close to her dad and yet one night, she wrote a poem (in Afrikaans): Ek Het 'n Pappa (I have a Father). I was so impressed she could worship God in this way, I asked her to send me the English translation and turned it into a song.

You explained about the devil/father of lies and his cunning so well.

It hurts me too when I hear God's name used as an exclamation/swear word, so I feel like we're on the same page here. Thank you for sharing your heart.

Thank you Sarah! An amazing review, and insightful. So you write music as well. What a lovely gift.

Your letter (or prayer) to our Heavenly Father certainly is relevant to our world today. We know that children are special to the Lord and it must grieve Him to see how some are being treated. Hopefully we all will echo this prayer of yours to the Lord.

Thank you Anne. This contest is a strange one because it?s hard to picture voting for a "winner" but it is nevertheless bringing Amens to lots of prayers and perhaps increasing our breadth and number of prayers. Helping us to focus on Hod Himself and what are the most important things to talk to Him about.
    Thank you again.

This is written so well and so "spot-on" for many of the thoughts in my own heart. I was thinking before I read yours about writing about children with major medical problems. I don't think I want to write it , but just pray it to God. We have an almost one year-old great grandson with Leukemia, that's complicated, and he has spent more than half of his life in the hospital. About three months ago, he had a cell transplant that to this date is working. He is so beautiful and sweet and lively.

I will pray for him too, poor little mite. How hard for his parents as well. Thank you for sharing about him. Thanks too for reviewing, and I greatly value the six stars, always an honour. It's a strange "contest" about praying, but if it promotes more prayer and reminds us to pray more, and also more widely and deeply, then that is a good thing.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I, often, pray for the children of the world. They are our future and right now it isn't looking good. But God has the power to fix that. I will continue to pray. I enjoyed reading your entry and wish you luck.

Thank you Barbara, especially for praying. It's a funny sort of contest, judging prayers, but at least if each entry reminds us to pray and to be more committed in our prayer life, then that is good.

Wendy,

A sweet and supportive letter for all the hurting children around the world. Certainly, there are many things going on that make no sense - but then, as Solomon said, 'There is nothing new under the sun.' Man has always found nasty, horrible ways to treat other men. It's amazing.

We take comfort in the fact that we are children of a most holy God and that this is not our home. Thank you!

Beautifully penned and illustrated prayer and plea for our future generations. I feel the same. I didn't really know my earthly father, but I cling to and love my Heavenly Father.

Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sal XOs

Thank you Sal. Appreciated. The main thing is that you know your heavenly Father, and can join in prayer for this next generation.

Wendy, I share your prayer. Many people in this world are suffering from all the reasons that you list (I would add famine), but children always suffer the most. As parents, we are meant to take care of our children, but many either can't or can't be bothered. I am a runner, and I can't tell you how many times I've run by a bus stop in the morning and noticed a child standing alone while the parent is on their cell phone - Facebook, Instagram, texting . . . It breaks my heart every time. I've thought of saying something to the parent, but fear I will make it worse for the child if the parent takes it out on them.

As always, this is impeccably written and is from your kind and gentle heart.

I join you in this prayer.

Thank you Pam for your insightful review. I agree, little ones need to know they are worth their parents' precious time and energy. Thanks for praying. Adults need a big change in their perspective, and to stop seeing this world as "all about them".

You are wise and dang good at saying what you feel. Nice piece of storytelling here. Strange, how mortals forget where they originate. It is usually pride that gets in the way of recognizing Father, as if anything acheived is to their credit not His.

You are right Tom. Pride and arrogantly wanting to be independent and "free". There are good freedoms and bad ones.
I appreciate your insightful review - and also your encouragement.

That's a good one, Wendy. I just read in the local newspaper that a young man was arrested for various crimes in our state. This man, as a boy, was coached by my son in basketball. He had tremendous potential in athletics, but once he left the tutelage of my son, he went astray. I have seen this scenario take place too many times. Children need a strong father figure in their lives.

That is a shame that the young man has gone off the rails and spoilt his life. Perhaps he will remember later the values of your son and turn himself around. Thank you for such a positive and encouraging review. I also value the gift of six stars. Thank you.
