A very nice Haiku. I like it very much. The words match the image very well. But even without the picture, the poem itself stands out. A real joy to read this one.

This is an extremely timely poem considering yesterday's flash-in-the-pan heatwave in Europe and England. Boy did we suffer! This morning the temperature has dropped amazingly - we feel as though we are on a roller coaster. Good luck in the contest.

Your poem depicts very clearly and effectively how the poor old earth is feeling parched and baked dry, with the crickets becoming upset. The seasons are becoming unpredictable.
I wish I could take some of your excessive heat and put it here where it is winter!

Thank you, Lisa, I would like to take some of that excessive rain like they have had in Yellowstone and move a little of it into my yard.

Beth, This is a very well written 5-7-5 poem about the rising heat we are facing now. You used very good descriptive words and very neat imagery from the art work you chose. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, Teri

I live in the part of the country that gets steaming every summer, but the older I get, the harder it is to deal with so I stay inside.
What a terrific, eye-catching image and you chose fantastic words to go with it. Regards, Lilly

I see all the elements of haiku in your poem from the summer seasonal reference to the satori of the crickets sounding the alarm. And I have heard of record temperatures around the country. Here the heater still goes on at night.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you Helen. I'm not a haiku writer so I'm relieved when someone who writes them tells me I did it correctly.

I know there are parts of the country that is suffering some severe heat waves. I hope you will all get a break soon! It can be so dangerous to wildlife as well as humans. Crickets sounding the alarm - great imagery. Well done.

Thank you June. I appreciate the review. I don't usually do a haiku so I just only hope I get the rules right. We are dangerous heat condition with is unusual for June. We need a break.

Yes, we are well used to such a combination over here in Australia. Great presentation, and your words are just right for that feeling if drought and desperate need for water.

Thank you, again for the review. We are under a heat warning here. We aren't used to it being this hot in June in Chattanooga.

Good haiku and good packaging. The font is large and easy to read. I like that the font has a color that coordinates with the visual. I think it is good the text is centered on the large visual because it makes the text more focal. The visual fits well with the poem. Well-done! Good luck in the contest.
