You have painted a wonderful scene of the splitting of the crysillist. Her home for so long, now with damp wings she is free to fly away and create more of her kind. Well done. K xx

Metamorphosis really does have a magical quality to the process. The caterpillar walks on the ground, until it transforms into a magnificent butterfly.

Wishing you much luck with the Contest Committee.

Gloria, thank you.I seldom attempt a Haiku poem, because the ancient art of Japanese Haiku is such a sacred art and I am not trained in any manner to claim expertise of the art.

I love this Haiku. It paints the metamorphosis of an insect, but also gives glimpses of our own changes and milestones. Very nicely done!

Thanks for sharing!

This is a very nice and simple haiku explaining the complex subject of change. Sometimes, as with the change from caterpillar to butterfly, it is both necessary and beautiful.

This is a very nice and well written 5-7-5 poem about the metamorphis of the butterfly. You used very good words and very nice imagery that went well with your words. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

You met the challenge of Haiku perfectly. I love the imagery of death leading to life. Your 'painting' is well done and effective.
Blessings and best in the contest,
Deb

You have successfully satisfied the intent of a true Haiku. I can see the metamorphosis taking place simply by reading your words. I didn't even need the picture to see the butterfly emerge.

Nicely done.

This is a great Haiku. The visual came through with your words as well as with your artwork. A beautiful naturistic poem of the progression of the butterfly Larva. Loved it!

Your use of the word my in the last line gives that element of surprise that is so much part of a haiku. What a close relationship there is between the nature around us and the nature within us.

Tony, yes, as I was writing this, I couldn't help but ponder the thought about our human transformations from birth to death.

Hello JLR,
Nice piece of poetry as 'Haiku' meeting the desired norms, having impressive phraseology, and beautifully depicting its theme.
Picture enhances depth and beauty of the poem.
GOOD LUCK in the contest.
