Excellent entry for the Free Verse Poetry Contest. I agree with you. Most of us don't take the time to get off the cellphone for a moment to enjoy the majestic nature.

a seed is not small thing, it leads to so much and enhances our lives. I like how your words pay a tribute to nature and reminds the reader, no matter how small, even a seed can lead to greatness. Excellent poetic form and use of words.

If you are a religious man, you will know that this pattern of seed becoming productive life sustaining crops are repeated throughout time during the very life of this planet we call the Earth. This whole process began with the creation of Earth. Water evaporated from the surface of the ground and formed clouds leaving behind plants that dropped seeds. Some of the seeds were picked up by animals and deposited in various other locations. The clouds would allow rain to be released to wet the ground and the seeds which would gain enrichment from the sun, and the seeds would turn into life sustaining plants, and so on and so forth.

This is an excellent free-verse poem with lovely imagery. I hope it does well in the contest. I will never look at a kernel of corn the same again. I like how you chose a common item to make a deep point.

I really enjoy how you've employed the free verse nature of the poem here. You go on lyrical runs - yearning barrages of words that create clear, animated imagery. This is full of the glory of nature, making the final closing line as inevitable and clear as fresh stream water. I loved this.

It is amazing when we get older and wiser, we see these things. Take a picture of a tree, turn it upside down, and what do you see? I see lungs. Everything God has created is connected. It takes time to realize that everything he created has similarities. Thank you for the great awareness. I have thought about this for years now.

Yes, you are right, and how important it is to have eyes to see such miracles as you have described so well. The cycles of nature are all in His hands and sustained by Him. We need to look and see. Well done. An original theme, well developed and convincing.

This good poem, "Do You See What I See," selects examples from nature to fill a poem with the ineffable beauty of nature. If one writes about it, I guess it's actually effable, but certainly never perfectly captured in words. This beauty is a thing of vast delight, and as such it should move with ease, grace, and passion; in this poem, the delivery of these three elements seems a little laborious. A little more poetry and a little less scientific detail would add some joy and lilt to this poem.
