Awkward conversations

I found the conversation sounding getting louder and louder
I like you put a image in my mind two men not agreeing.
You did well making a conversation into a poem

This is a funny but true poem. Only having a short amount of time to catch up can lead to things being awkward. Seems lately short amounts of time is all people can get. Thanks for sharing this piece!

It's obvious you've thoroughly analyzed this subject prior to putting it into poetry. We've all experienced these types of conversations. How about times when a conversation should have ended but you keep going until it becomes awkward or ugly. You've done a fantastic job with this subject.

-Very nice image and presentation, Jesse.
-Thanks for the notes.
-The opening line is very good and
functions like a hook in a story,
short and to the point.
-You use very good images throughout.
-A couple I like are "Happenstance revival"
and "awareness gathers dust."
-The progression of the conversation is
shown very well from the 'fevered pitch' to
'a letdown', ending with 'Sarcastic mindfulness.'
-It sounds like you had a great conversation,
and maybe it was so intense, neither of you
knew quite what to do.
-Are you still friends or is it in limbo?

Thank you, Pam, for this in depth detailed analysis of my poem. I appreciate your choices of what worked for you and why.
Yes, it got too intense yet we remained friends. The next time my friend came over he read my poem and apologized although I didn't expect him to do so.
Thanks for showing an interest in me.
Have a lovely upcoming week!

You are very welcome, Jesse, and I appreciate your reply. I am glad your friend appreciated the poem. You have a great week, as well.

Yes, he did, and the most important part is we remained friends.
Enjoy your week!

Sometimes we meet up with an old friend we haven't seen in a while and we just pick up where we left off and then again sometimes it can be awkward. Sorry your encounter turned out to be the awkward kind.
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent use of words that shows not all conversations flow smoothly or end well. "Awareness gathers dust" is a clear description of communication that is not happening well. Excellent poetic form and use of words.

I think most of us can relate to this! I know I can. People you were so comfortable with and sent texts to and kept in touch, but when you see them again there is only awkwardness. What does one talk about? Yet, we used to talk all the time without even thinking about it. Good, deeply thought out poem. Bravo!

Thank you, Sam, for your insightful review.
I am happy that this resonates with you. Yes, we all have relationships like the one I wrote about where we run out of things to say when we ordinarily don't.
Thanks for your kind words and comments about it being a deeply thought out poem.
Have a beautiful upcoming week!

Awe, what a shame. What could have been such a wonderful reunion and catch up of an old friendship ended up in an uncomfortable conversation. Sometimes, it's the way it goes. I really liked your poem. Ulla:)))

How sad that the conversation didn't go well, Jesse. What a wonderful picture of all the tiny falls. Unfortunately life does go on and on, whether we like it or not. The best we can do is remember the close friend and forget the conversation.

Things left unsaid, or things said too much can harm friendship. I understand. I have a really close friend; we've been friends since the 80's. She very liberal. I'm very conservative. We've discovered to remain friends we don't discuss politics. Thank you for sharing.
