What stunning camellias! Such purity of whiteness. Your combination of 5-7-5 and photograph does them justice. A fine short poem for the contest. Good luck with it.

This is a very interesting and well written 5-7-5 poem for the Ode to Autumn writing prompt. You used very good descriptive words and very nice imagery from the art work you chose. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

This is a good use of the name of the flower with a metaphor. They do look like a white full moon in an Autumn sky.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

The author's words are lovely, interesting, descriptive and creative.
Thank you for the author's notes - it is great to know more about this
flower. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is beautiful
and compliments both the words and theme of this poem.

Love your Ode To Autumn 5-7-5 poem. These poems are not as easy to write as most people think. I also loved the artwork you chose for your writing. It's very appropriate. Great job!

Big fan of 5-7-5 poems and alliteration in my own poem efforts so your first line is terrific! While your notes capitalize camellia, your verse does not. You do capitalize Autumn Moons.
Your selected photo complements your 'ode to autumn' post. Possibly your image is from your own courtyard - if so, congrats!
Best wishes in the upcoming vote.

Thank you for reading my poem and for your generous review! I think I capitalized the term in the notes when referring to the proper scientific name, the proper common name or the scientific genus as a proper group. That may or may not have been correct!

A lovely picure and and a magic flower for inspiration. Youo poem evokes the harbingers of coming season change as the wheel begins to turn toward the next season. Good luck

This is beautiful work, mystery writer. Thank you very much for the author's notes, which enhanced both my understanding of the flower pictured but also the nuances of your work. I think this is a lovely entry for the Ode to Autumn contest, and really fitting because you both are and are not talking about Autumn. You are speaking about it metaphorically, but using imagery from the summer, which makes it a great seasonal transition piece as well. Best of luck in the competition! Thank you for sharing.

Great. I learned something in addition to having an interesting read. Do your Camellias in your yard resemble celestial orbs? That would be something to see.

Indeed they do. We have small muted uplights trained on the tops of the plants that enhance the blooms at night when the?re in bloom. They are one of my favorite things in our courtyard. I bought and planted them over ten years ago when they were small saplings. Now, in their current planters they are about 7 feet tall and create almost a canopy around our front entrance. They?re like members of the family. Thank you for reading my poem and for the kind review!
