Your poem certainly expresses the sorrow that we fell about this tragedy. Hard to believe that a young man could do what he did, destroying the future of so many precious children.

Impressive poem and an interesting form intertwined with idiom, and fact. It says in a nutshell the reality of what happened in Texas (and elsewhere) in an uncompromising and emotion pulling way, especially with the accompanying picture. True art.

Gypsy, this is fantastic work. A true tragedy in the news right now, and I've seen quite a few pieces of commentary here on FanStory featuring it (tragedy makes a prolific muse, I think), but this one really speaks to me. Your choice of using 6 syllables per line is very clever, given the "six feet under" notion, and I will have to borrow it from you at some point in the future (all credit given, of course!). I am bookcasing this for future inspiration. Thank you for sharing and creating such an interesting form. This would be a great idea for a future contest, I think. Well done all around.

my dear friend I have never met, your eloquent words written with perfection is married perfectly with Novalis photo. Your words express the sadness on my heart as my heartfelt prayers continue to flow into the souls in Uvalde, especially the children that survived as witnesses to horror that will impact the, for a lifetime. Thank you for keeping this in the forefront!

You are right, Gypsy. Those involved will never forget
that day. Your poem painted a true picture of the
horrific event. The color scheme and image were
perfect. Thanks for the notes, too. I'm 2 1/2 hours
from the school, and my heart breaks every time I
think about it or hear news of it.
Respectfully, Jan

Gypsy Blue: wonderful impactful poem about the sadness of the shooting of the innocence and their calling for help. Many of the students are Columbine, Colorado, asked for police help for five hours before they were helped from the two killer teens.

They all are precious. So sad to know more people have been killed since.

This is a new form to me. It lends itself movingly to the message of this descriptive poem. Children in that room could hear the police just yards away--talking, waiting for the RIGHT time to enter!!

Your words impact the reader and I like this new poetic form. I may try it.
Your words show the horror of the school shooting and the delayed response to the crisis. Excellent poem that gives a voice to the victims.

It is wrong to blame others for something one lone man did. There are times when we just cannot prevent such tragedies when someone is determined to kill others. This is such a tragic write, love Dolly x

I like your poem - Good presentation picture - Haven't been watching the news on this - too angry too sad - glad your poem is pointing it out. Politics to blame...used to be the police...once upon a time...know the game...things that touch children especially touch me... your poem as good flow and a good message - good job.
