I really enjoyed reading this conte entry. These Patrick McKee stories are really good and the way you put them into a poem is perfect. Thank you for sharing. I'm pretty sure you have nailed this contest, but just in case good luck.

Thanks, Barb. Patrick may be revisited in the future. After all, God is going to check up on him in a month or two.

Ha! I love this, Paul. This is the most fun I've had reading in a long time. It made me smile from beginning to end. It's nice to come upon a piece that allows you to stay with a single emotion. Best, JohnC

Hello Paul
Great fun as Pat Mckee never fails to amuse.
Even God is impressed, so I could not give it any less
than six stars to light the night sky.
Marvelous rhymes and tetrameter as the poem flows down the page.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes.
Robert

This is my first introduction to Patrick McKee, and I must say you've done a fantastic job telling his story in rhyme. The story and poetry is compelling and humorous, and I appreciate the time and thought you put into writing it. God goes to hell. Who would think of that? This is very creative with lots of detail. It was fun to read.

This is a delightful poem and I'll have to go back and read the others. He seems like quite a character, and honestly, the changes he made were great. Thanks for sharing. :)

Shame shame shame Paul, and shame on me for laughing! I think and hope God forgives us both, but you my friend took your naughty pills right before writing this, and I must have taken mine right before reading it. Actually, I just couldn't stop reading and laughing, yet it does borderline on naughty. Yet, a very good message, as so many do have the meaning of good and bad kind of mixed up.
I did however love the comment about the politician suggested for the position.
But however would you choose, with so many qualified for the position!?!
This was unusual, but very witty and kinda fun to read, and I just had to give you a little bit of a hard time as it did show a lot of thought that went into it. Thanks Paul, and in my opinion, you still got what it takes me to put on one good show my friend!

Thanks, Debi. You are too kind. I do check with God before I write some of these things.

There's quite a bit of genius in this clever and long allegory (I presume, or satire). The premise is fascinating. I have now Googled Pat McKee, but sadly am still in the dark due to not being familiar with the various parties or for what they stand. I may have a tiny clue having read something about Sinn Fein becoming a recognized legitimate group rather than what was labeled a terrorist organization. I guess I have to thank the movies for even knowing a crumb about Irish politics. I apologize. I know this is deep and important. At any rate, you spurred me to learn more, and read an amazingly entertaining poem. Thanks!

Ah, I see you've written another Patrick McKee poem. It seems that his rearranging of Hell has made things too favorable and now Heaven is having to lay off some angels. Enjoyed the fun. Best wishes in the contest!

loved this poem. I like the character Pat Mc Gee. I like the interplay between God, Satan and Pat Mc Gee. I like the description of heaven and hell and the bureaucracy that runs the place.

Somehow I missed your other poems about Patrick McKee, but this one really tickled me, except for the line:
Of something wrong but didn't know what.
this grated, seeming a bit long. I shall rush off this morning, to find previous adventures of this amsing fellow. Kate xx

Thanks, Kate. Sometimes I use "didn't" as a one syllable word.
