In this expressive, moving poem, you have vividly described the chaos and numerous reasons for fear in the present time--and what we're leaving behind for our descendants.

Well said, Jaybird! There is a ball of confusion and it is the planet earth. Wars and shootings and pestilence and greed all add to the stress we feel deep in our hearts. Your rhymes are top-notch and the flow works well. This is a good one, maybe one of your best.
Have a good memorial weekend!

Sir, I understand everything you said and I worry, also, about our country and I am angry at those determined to destroy it. Sometimes I wonder if God isn't saying, "I gave you everything - prosperity, a beautiful land; you earned your freedom and what did you do with it? You gave it up. This is a wake-up call. Whether you triumph or fail is up to you." And from the way it looks to me, it's not good, though I am ever hopeful.

Jaybird,
Your excellent poem sums up the sad state of affairs of the world. But like you, I think as a people we'll survive. I believe, though that people are still blessed--that we are living in God's graces. I believe He still loves us.
I love your poetry, Jaybird. It's always so thought provoking and genuine.
Good luck!
You're in my prayers for good health and happiness.
Blessings,
Cindy

based on media reports, the world is lost. Very few winning stories are aired. It is like they do not care, and I don't believe bad news gets them better ratings, and neither do they for they haven't tried a steady diet of it.

Jay,
This is a good poem about how humans have weakened their world by being Carlos's and ignoring the problems they're causing. Your last stanza's first line seems so true.
Keep writing and stay healthy

I have to believe that things will get better...I have to because I have a new baby granddaughter. I think where's there's life there's hope. A great ending full of hope.
