Thanks for sharing about your military training, Earl. How cool to go to "Jump School" and serve in Germany and Hawaii. Were you in Waipahu? Thank you for serving in Desert Storm!

You certainly had a full life, and saw a lot you wouldn't have seen otherwise probably. Now, it's time to relax and post on FS all you have seen and learned. Thanks for sharing this.

My grandmom used to say "God leads us where he needs us."

You've lived a good life made your choices-- endured and fourished.

Many ways in life to get "educated"-- So pleased you have no regrets!

People like me are blessed that people like you stepped up!

Veterans are the backbone of our liberty...

We all should remember to honor them with action--and every day!

The objective correlative of your work reminisces a veteran military officer's cost benefit analysis of missing out college training in favour of military training.

The work highlights his not too good outing at college; his foray into the military that afforded him quite a lot of sites and experiences. And more so his career appreciation into a veteran.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes synonymous with the benefits of different occupational dichotomies.

Excellent work. Bravo.

This is like a memoir in a poem - well done! I liked reading it, great story with some funny lines. Since this is for a contest entry, I would suggest that you go in and edit for punctuation (there's an awful lot of commas) and a couple of misspellings (four years instead of four year).

Good luck and keep writing those witty rhymes:-)

I usually put commas at the end of the lines in my poetry. You are the first person ever to mention it. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my work.

This poem is a military autobiography covering several years - or should that be almost a lifetime of military service. It is a great club you have belonged to.

'I dawned on me...' >> I think you mean 'It dawned on me...'

You did a great job of make a story poem of all your military service. This is an excellent poem for the contest. I guess you made the right choice for you since you have no regrets. It could have been worse. It sound like you were in some neat places.

This was a fascinating journey through your time travelling the world with the military, seeing major events and experiencing different environments. As you suggest, regrets in life are pretty pointless. All we do brings us to where and who we are.

I very much enjoyed the read.

Mike
