Authors notes made me smile most. What a sweet dedication. The verses were melodic in their rhyme and metre. Real natural. The humor stays alive throughout. Just a really great poem

Great to read your shortened version of your Army career, Earl. Military life is hard to explain to anyone else who hasn*t lived it. Great to have been there and great to be past it. Vets are best.

I found this poem a great description of days in the army! The words
were clear, interesting, experiential, and creative. Great there are
no regrets! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is
perfect and compliments these words.

I admire the men who chose a Military Career instead of the usual College life. They need to open the draft again. That would stop a lot of the unrest among all the maturing males in our cities AND gang related shootings. Give them something to shoot at! Why can't our leaders see that's when the trouble with the youth started?. Good Job. Earl. Nancy

I respect you for your service. Your rhyming army story covers a lot of global travel and historic moments. Interesting that you weren't keen on college at the beginning but saw the value of it at the end.

In the photo - Why do those army guys shout in people's faces like that?

    When anyone yells at me I withdraw and stop listening. I'd get booted out of the army.

The end to your story, I too do live. I have no compadres from high school, and other than my coaches none from college either but from the service I need more hands than God has given. Alive or in memoriam, I will have good thoughts about them.

-My father retired from the Air Force
and then from Civil Service working
on the C-5 planes at Dover Air Force Base.
-Thank you for your service and for
many others, too.
-You wrote a very good poem about
your experience with good examples and rhyme.
-It flows well from one couplet to the next.
-I guess the odd thing about being in various
places, like Hawaii, is you don't really get to enjoy them
like you would on a vacation, there.
-An excellent closing couplet showing your
appreciation to all your friends, "the vets."
