The author's words are heartfelt, clear and creative. Thank you for
the author's notes - they compliment this poem. I pondered on
the words of this poem and feel it is never to late to thank our parents.
The poem flows and connects well.
Hi Jay, hope you have a lovely Sunday!.....Maria

What a superb poem written in tribute to a beloved, deceased father evoking the man's deep and abiding love for this family- maybe not expressed in words, as we do in excess, these days, I think! but expressed through actions' He did not feel the need for words' - simply superb

0h, Jay. This was so often the way in past generations. Love was not a platitude of words, it was the fevered brow of hard work--the endless dedication to family! My grandpa never said the words...but oh, I know how much he loved me!

I enjoyed reading this poem about your father and am so glad that you have such fond memories of him. He sounds like a good old fashioned Dad. Take care. Jen.

Very beautiful and you're right: action speaks louder than words. Love is an action, though my father told it in words and action. I guess he felt his little girl needed to hear. But I didn't.

You are very right in what you say. My father was the same - but I think that generation found it difficult to express love in words. Very different now. Words are said, but they still have to be supported by actions.

A poem of profound truth. The words, I love you, mean nothing without the actions that show it. Yet, it is sad that people, especially men, from previous generations, often seem to have had difficulty putting their love into words.

Your dad ever loved you, your family and cared you, but he never used words saying 'I love you' he has gone long, now you feel his love was kind and right; well said, well done; post god speed more; positively encouraging editing, negatively not wording, forgiving errors of theist-good authors-writers. A fine poem dedicated to your father, Jay. He showed his love for his family by being there, and caring. His toil a labour of love even though he didn't say the words, I love you, he showed his love in every way.

A very nice read today. :)
