This is an unusual, but well written story. It's difficult to get an actual story written when it's flash fiction. There is so few words. However, you did well. As a child, the Piggle Wiggle story would have given me the creeps, as did anything I thought was unusual. Best wishes to you in the contest.

Hello LJ,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment on this story and for the fine review. The stories were quite humorous, and even the teacher would end up laughing as she read them. They all had to do with difficult children as I recall, and how to deal with them in unique ways.
Have a blessed evening.

This story was adorable and entertaining! I remember the radishes in the ears story, for some reason, too. Thank you for sharing your amusing story, and best wishes.

Thanks so much for the great review and comments Jessi. I think I was in third grade when I heard that story. That was a long, long time ago. So glad you enjoyed this.
Have a blessed day.

Haha. I liked the twist at the end about the broccoli and cauliflower. I'm not good at writing flash fiction. You did a great job and got some humour into it too.

Hello Sarah,
Thanks so much for your wonderful review and comments. I suppose flash fiction is like any other kind of writing, you just have to try it and keep at it. I never know what I'm going to write until it happens. I hope you try the next contest, you may find that you're better than you think.
Have a blessed day.

Tom,
I loved this, particularly the uncertainty of hippies vs. aliens. (Is there a difference?) Fertilizer and seed all in one. Next time wait for a day when the wind is calm or you may find carrots rooted in your nostrils.

Hi Sue,
I like carrots! I should eat more of them. It would be convenient to have the fixings for a dinner right on you bod I suppose, as long as there was water right handy, and you were particular about what you plucked from where. Thanks so much for the exceptional review gal. I really appreciate it.
Have a blessed evening.

You never expected, but it happened beyond your hope and aspiration, this is life, we get we expected never, and we lose we expected; life is stranger than fiction, experience speaks so, the truth is well expressed; well said, well done; post god speed more; positively encouraging editing, negatively not wording, forgiving errors of theist-good authors-writers. I enjoyed this flash!
In so many stories in this genre, they can tend to read awkwardly , but this did not. You did a great job with the prompt, very creative. I love that your inspiration came from a children's book:)
Good luck in the contest.

Hello K.L. -
Thanks so much for the fine review and comments. I was in third grade I believe when my teacher read to the class. Isn't it funny the things we recall, things from long ago that made an impression on us? I appreciate your input.
Have a blessed evening.

LOL That weird place sells a fantastic product. It seems to grow plants exceptionally fast. Maybe you should do all your shopping there. Just make sure the wind is blowing you way. Cute flash.

Thanks so much for the great review Beth. No doubt I could save a bundle on groceries, at least as far as produce went. I only had two hours left to come up with something for the contest, so decided to give that a try.
Have a blessed evening.

This is brilliant, I knew you had a great self effacing sense of humour, but this is brilliant Tom, I wh I had a six for this, it's worth its weight in gold bullion. Well done, a great post, blessings Roy

Hello Roy, thanks so much for that fantastic review, I'm honored by your kind words. I had been outside for the past few days working on the lawn, and it just kind of emerged from my mind.
Have a blessed day.

Growing up, I heard people say you could grow potatoes in those ears. It seems you have better than that. No telling what was in that fertilizer, but I think you need to get rid of it.

Hello Yvonne,
No doubt the fertilizer is out of this world! I was reading a little bit about hydroponics yesterday and realized that we may need to start exploring different options for growing food soon if things don't turn around. The sad part is, I believe most of this has been self-inflicted. Thanks so much for the great review and comments. Hope you're doing well my friend.
Have a blessed day.

Too funny, Tom!
I remember Miss Piggle Wiggle! But "two broccoli sprigs" coming out of your nose would be a tad bit painful! Love the picture it creates in my mind!
Lots of planting here and cleaning up here today from a humdinger of a storm. Gaylord = about sixty miles east of us experiences a tornado yesterday, and in Presque Isle, the hail was incredibly huge and damaging.
We just sustained lots and lots rain! Nature's fertilizer! :)
Thank you for sharing!
Best wishes!

Hello Diane,
How nice to hear from you! I would imagine that the broccoli would be a tad painful. Perhaps better than cauliflower though. I wish we could get some substantial rain. The snow all finally melted and the trees are leafed out, but the grass is still in need of a good soaking rain, and there is none in the forecast. In Southeast there was seldom a problem with rain, but here there are forest fires in the summer. Hopefully it won't come to that. Thanks so much for the grand review.
Have a blessed day gal.
