Sandra, this is a beautiful entry for the Fabulous Free verse club. The graphic compliments the dutiful activities of time-worn hands that accompany a soul going along the business of living a full life filled with Grace and mindful activity. Thank you for sharing your talent.

My fingers are bend by osteoarthritis and look deformed, but they still work very well and stand me in good stead for the washing and cleaning! A fine write about our hands and the good work they do everyday, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

This poem is a wonderful tribute to gnarled fingers on hands that have given and given again - hands that have not held back but are engaged with life and activity

Those are beautiful hands filled with strength, knowledge and love. You did a great job with the prompt, very creative. This is well written and composed. The presentation mirrors the sentiment left.

This is a wonderful piece, Sandra. Some of us age more gracefully than others. I am not one of the graceful agers. It takes looking down at your hands at a task that you begin to ponder the past. I enjoyed this piece

Your free verse read well, Sandra. It had smooth flow,
good formatting, and descriptive words. I could see
everything you mentioned about the gnarled fingers.
The picture was perfect, too. You told a story of love
this lady had for doing the 'things' of her normal day to
day without complaining. She did all in the name of love.
Respectfully, Jan

Your well-crafted poem shows what has caused the gnarled fingers - attending to the family's needs: preparing meals, washing clothes and dishes - all done over the years with promptness and quiet dignity... the grace of service and contentment in her role.

You grasped fully my intent in writing this poem. Many see the hands of older folks and think they look unattractive. However, I think about what those hands have offered to the world. Thank you for reading my poem and the rating.

My favourite pair of hands to look at belong to my friend who is 96. They are gnarled with rheumatism as well as the loving hard work she has done on behalf of her family and everyone else she helps. She's a wonderful woman.

Great title for your short free verse and though her hands are old and gnarled, they still work hard. I love the final lines

Gnarled fingers
Mirror a tranquil grace
Nicely done, cheers
