Hello DragonSkulls, very good dialogue. Prices are insane. In NJ gas is $4.89/gallon of gas. In the store, a large-sized bottle of ketchup
was $6.95 ... what would the people of depression have done when
they would visit Horn & Hardart and fill up their cup with free hot
water and then add ketchup??? The days of condiments on the table
are gone. I heard that some of the fast food restaurants are
charing customers for salt, pepper, ketchup, dressing, etc. All of this equals an increase in prices. The price of everything has gone up, but I can't help but wonder who are the ones who are increasing prices just because they can, and not because it's necessary ... just sharing.
Good writing. Good humor. Well chosen photo. A pleasure to read.
This story made me smile and laugh ... something that we all need to do more of. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Wow. It's been a long time since I even ate out at a restaurant. I wouldn't doubt if they do go as far as charging you for salt and pepper nowadays. That;s crazy. Yes, I don't believe we're running short on very much stuff and everyone's just jacking the prices up because they know they can get away with it then everyone else just follows suit.

You made me smile here as the world is suffering from higher prices for pretty much everything. Here, every day on the news they talk about us having to choose between eating and heating - a catvhy phrase from one of our politicians that has caught on. The only consolation of moving rapidly into becoming a deprived nation is that we are far from being alone. Only (as you say) the rich polititians don't (or can't) understand.

We have a D senator in
NH up for election. She's running ads about a trip to the border and taking on her party to reduce the gas tax -- to help us little people. The RNC is running a counter ad exposing her voting records, etc. and it features bleating sheep being sheared in between clips of what she says and then what she has done. Finally, the
RNC is smartening up -- truth and humor make a good match.
