Your use of personification will draw the reader in. You've used some nice onomatopoetic words and alliterative words with s's & sh's. The p's and b's create a powerful effect. "Of poor beaten earth" &
"Black crows" & many others, but this is enough

Some countries suffer from droughts that cause damage destroy lives, you used all the required words for the contest here and built a pome around them as you brought hope to those doubtful days of drought, love Dolly x

I wrote a poem, and the funny thing is we tend to remember odd things, I wrote a line, "the grain will grow again, and that's true. We had a multi year drought in the eastern states, but it broke with a vengeance, but the suffering was terrible! A beautifully written poem centring on this terrible affliction and relief, well done, blessings Roy

The author's words are interesting, clear, descriptive and creative.
I liked how this author gave hope throughout each stanza. The
poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and
compliments this poem well.

A fine job of using the required words to tell a tale of a farmer hoping for rain during a drought. I especially like the simile in lines 1-2 and your use of personification in the last stanza. You do make this reader appreciate the rain. Rod

This is a fine example of free verse that demonstrates a good feeling for occasional rhyme, assonance and consonance, as well as alliteration and general euphony.

This poem, Drought-breaking Rains, contains the required words and fully expounds on the sensations which are experienced when a touch of life falls from the sky and encourages exploding growth. Neat.

Two poems in a row about drought, wow! Most of the Western US has been in drought conditions for a while. What a wonderfully written poem.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you very much. A very nice review. (Two poems on drought: It must be because of needing to use five words including "rain" and "earth".)

You've made me want a drink! A beautifully expressed piece exploring the need for water in order for anything to live. Love the personification throughout, but particularly the earth's cracked lips. Nicely done.
