I love willow trees. I am happy the tree's life goes on... it's a very zen concept. It made me think of "the Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.

Thank you for sharing such sweet memory with us. â?¡

Life after destruction is a marvelous thing to see. I put in a lot of plants in a bare spot in our apartment complex last year and the lawncare people cut them all down. I was very upset. However, the roots must have been hardy because new growth sprouted recently and the plants are now flourishing. ....I put stone borders around them all so it would not happed again. Best wishes in the contest, Helen! :-)

There is a saying," nature finds a way.' I find that appropriate
after reading your poem. Did you take this photo ? Nature is
truly remarkable You left a strong provocative message using
5 lines of poetry, well done.

Excellent entry. It is amazing how plants can regenerate themselves. Alliteration with willow, wings; fall and feathered; laid and leaves. Good luck in the contest.

Hello Helen,
Congratulations on the All Time Best award. Well done on the poem. Isn't it amazing how some life forms just don't want to give up? The frustrating part is when you're trying to get something to grow, like bedding plants, and they won't take hold. Life is a mystery.
Have a blessed evening gal.
Tom

Thank you, Tom! I would imagine you always get All Time Best for your posts.
Yes, life is a mystery - dandelions and willows won't give up but well, some houseplants just teeter on existence.
    Hugs and blessings!

Hello Helen, no, I only wish I did. If that were the case, my head would be so big that my hat wouldn't fit.
    Blessings

It's lovely when a tree re shoots and in particular this one that was cut down. Nature 's determination at work. Nicely done with your 5 line poem Helen and good luck in the contest. Cheers

Nature triumphs over technology! Lol! Great photo. In our city, they cut out the branches that surround the power lines, leaving the trees looking a mess. Guess we need a way to peacefully coexist with nature. Blessings, and best wishes in the contest. Carol

Lol. Actually, I'm afraid the trees might win. At least, it gives the tree trimmers employment!
Thanks for sharing and reviewing, Carol!

You've put your interesting observation into a short poem, perfect for this contest, Helen. We've had a lot of trees cut down in preparation for a few new communities in our neighbourhood, this past year. But nothing much has happened lately and we are seeing new shoots springing from the fallen branches too.

In nature, sometimes the death of some can bring life to another. I have never given much thought to life beyond the grave and death is so final and we are gone forever and only remembered for a while by those we leave behind. A poignant write Helen, food for thought, love Dolly x

Trees are amazing, aren't they? They can split, lose half their limbs, or even get cut to pieces and still produce leaves and blooms. Your poem is descriptive and appealing.
