Reminiscing of a better, maybe more desirable past. We all do it and now you have declared it. I have a little problem with the usage of the word 'spilth' in the 7th line. I think, perhaps, a more familiar word (growing, spreading, tangling) whatever, may better serve the poem. But your efforts still command a five rating. Thanks.

The selected words are used to good advantage in this poem but I think you have a mistake in the title 'Forge Me Not'! While no one would enjoy being hammered out upon an anvil, I think you meant 'Forget Me Not'.

OMG! You're correct. It should be Forget...not Forge. My fingers move faster than my brain sometimes. Thanks.

I suffer from something similar on occasions.

I absolutely loved this poem. Wonderful use of the four prompt words. I loved the line - gleaming sharp and crude. Very well done. Good luck in the contest.
