What I really like about your writing is how much the emotions of the characters, the personalities, the character, comes out in the dialogue. You have really strong dialogue here, and also what's great is how you put those little comic relief lines in there, very naturally, to break up the tension and even out the mood, much like it seems in real life. estory

This is a good chapter, they seem to be able to talk problems out, which she didn't have with her previous boyfriend. Cord has another good point in her book. Actually, he has several as he has given her a horse and some good rides out on the horses.

This is the most enjoyable post I've read on FS since my return. Your conversation is simple, engaging and adequate. Not too long either -- thank you! Hey, nobody likes to be called 'stupid'. As I child I was called that so often by one particular parent that I actually grew up believing I was stupid. But at 17 I studied for a First Aid test and got 100%. Only then did I realise I was not as stupid as I was told. The terrible thing was that the damage was done -- I had already flunked school. Personally, I hate that word.

Words hurt and Ali has had plenty of her in her life from her ex-finance. She's healing and Cord is helping. I am so glad you're back.

Cordero is the typical macho male who is eager to protect his woman and Ali over reacts sometimes. I enjoy reading this slow developing romance where the couple don't jump into the bed when they meet .Many romances these days are not love stories ,but lust stories..It is the blooming that feels good to read..

It seems like Ali's prone to over-reacting. She does that because I think she's hesitant about getting too close to Cord. Cord can be a bit overbearing but sounds like a Texas guy who speaks before he thinks. He likes to be the one in charge. Cord and Ali have some things to work out, and I'm sure they will. Great work with the characters. Rosa is so sweet and understanding. Another excellent chapter. judi

"I'm new at this," is something I would expect a frightened fifteen or sixteen year old to say, not someone with a law degree and a practice. Am I being sexist? I hope not.]
