Loved this informative post, Beth! Virtual six!
I enjoyed how you started with the poem and then gave us what's happening with the moon this month and about the newest theories about the moon's relationship to the Earth!

Thank you Helen. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Someone said the moon taking our water should be good, because there well be less to overflow the coastline when the icebergs melt. Another site said eventually all the water on earth would be used up and even the seas would dry up. What can you believe?

I skimmed that article and it's just a bunch of theories about things that could have happened over billions of years. And you know when they talk about billions, they really don't know. I'm guessing it's someone who needs some air time on the internet. Sigh.

Nice writing. Good work.
You might have gotten into a rush to finish. This sentence is a bit long and awkward. - "I hope the sky will be free of clouds ....
Maybe if you started with "it has been a long time since I've seen (a lunar eclipse). And then another sentence with the first and last parts. Hope this wasn't too confusing.
Best wishes.

Thank you Wayne. I appreciate the review and comments. I did add that last paragraph as an afterthought to try to bring the subject back to the May moon. The paragraph before was about the moon stealing water from earth, and I had gotten away from what was happening this month. I'll take a look and work on the long sentence.

Oh yes, superstition affects the most "sensible" appearing people, I think I was pointing out that very many sportspeople are superstitious, they have some "quirk" or another, a ritual to please the "gods of luck" so it doesn't surprise me that we can be "swayed"...even the most sensible...and, it's ridiculous. Beautifully written,

Thank you, Roy, for an excellent review. Yes it seems that people cling to superstitions, no matter how ridiculous they might be.

Your poem and prose are well done, Beth, You explained
May's full blood moon well. The author notes add another
layer to your work. I like the entire presentation--the image
is beautiful, the poem is smooth to read, the bold font adds
to the enjoyment, and your notes are well organized.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy Stargazing, Jan

Beth, Thank you for sharing this post about the moon and what we will be able to see. You used very good descriptive words and a very neat picture you chose from the art work! Regardless of what happens to the sun or moon I know the Lord, God is in control and that is good enough for me. love and blessings, Teri

Thank you Teri. I'm glad the Lord put the moon up there. There is a purpose for everything and I sure the moon is doing what it is supposed to do.

I am always interested in stories about the moon. I was born in June and therefore I am considered to be a Moon Child. Cancer. This was very interesting to me Beth. Thank you for sharing this. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. I've gotten more interested in the moon recently when I decided to write a poem about the moon once every month this year. My daughter born June 7 is a Gemini. I didn't realize part of June was Cancer.

That was really interesting, Beth, and I'll be sitting up to see the total lunar eclipse. I'll have to check the UK time, though. I was also very interested in the moon syphoning of our water. Surely that is a good thing while we have global warming and the iceburgs are rapidly melting. It could stop some of us being flooded out. Your poem at the beginning was wonderful, really well done. I enjoyed reading all this. Very well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra. I'm glad you liked this. I would think like you that taking away water would help get the oceans from taking over because I ice melting and global warning but then I see thing forecasting global droughts and then I see things saying one date the oceans will have evaporated. It is hard to know what to believe.

Thank you for sharing this information. I enjoyed reading and learned somethings. I always like learning. I can't wait to see this eclipse in all its glory. Fascinating about the water.

Thank you for the review and comments. I am anxious to see this lunar eclipse too, I was surprised about the water going to the moon. In 1984 the World Fair theme in New Orleans was Waters of the World. I remember them saying since the world was began not one drop of water from this planet had ever left. It was constantly changing form and being recycled. I guess they were wrong.

Some very interesting facts you've given us. Man has always been fascinated by the moon, and I think we still are today, despite all the technology and satellites. I kind of like believing in the legends of different cultures. Well, not believe in them, but know them. After all, who knows who's right? Well done, Beth.

The objective correlative of your work reminisces the features and duly observed characteristics of the Lunar Eclipse and its associated mythical connotations.

The work highlights the month of May, not only as native of flowers, but with this particular May, being a progenitor of a Lunar Eclipse; with a myriad of mythical allusions made on the often weird potentials associated with the Lunar Eclipse.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes synonymous with the month of May and the Lunar Eclipse.

Exceptional Work. Keep the flag flying.
