You are so right. Karma does cut both ways. The good feeling from the second part of your story certainly proves that. I hope you were never quite so trusting of your friend from the first part.

Thank you. I just learned not to tell anyone, including my best friend, anything I didn't want to be repeated. I forgave her because it was more my fault than hers. I had no business telling anybody what was told to me in confidence. Hugs

I know exactly what you mean, pretty bluebirds. About
7-8 years ago I made a comment in passing that wasn't too kind about someone to a relative. She
repeated it, they got wind of it. I went through a lot of
embarrassment over it.
The old saying that goes, "If
you can't, won't say anything
nice, keep it to yourself,"
rings so true. I wish I could
take it back. Very stellar
writing here, prettybluebirds.

You gave readers much to think about, PBB. I enjoyed reading
your post. I like the bold font, the image, the personal examples
of karma, and the message. I agree. Karma will get you in
the end one way or the other.
Respectfully, Jan

What goes around DOES come around. We've all experienced it at some point. Years ago, a coworker told me something about her family life. She did not say, "Don't tell anyone," even though I should have known. I told my best friend. She told someone. Before long, the story was distorted and spread through the office. My coworker never spoke to me again. Your story is well written and speaks the truth. You gave two fine examples of Karma. I wish you the best in the contest.

Thank you. It sounds like you had the same experience I did. My co-worker never talked to me again either. Hugs.

I enjoyed your piece about karma. I believe that you reap what you sow, always. I am impressed that you did the right thing by returning the ring to its owner. Thank you for sharing your story here, and good luck in the contest.

This is a very well written piece that explains through detailed examples, both the possible good or bad events that can result from our actions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I only have a couple of suggestions:

. Lesson learned,(I think punctuation should be ; here) keep my big . .
. my big mouth use twice very close together. I suggest changing phrase, preferably to one not quite so colloquial in the 2nd instance.
. "but boy I hated to give it up." using boy, fits your conversational style, but I think it needs to be separated by commas as it can be removed without changing the meaning of the sentence.... Should be punctuated the same as if you said "Wow" or something like that.

Thank you for the helpful tips. I went back and made some changes after I read your review. I noticed I had the word (sleep) twice and close together so I corrected that too. I wrote this in a hurry yesterday and never took the time to edit. I appreciate reviews that actually are helpeul. So many just read for the money and pumps and don't say much of anything.

Excellent stories. Fine writing. Good work.
A simple thing like keeping a confidence is truly one of the hardest things in life. Another way to consider it, is that a person shouldn't tell (in the first place) what they don't want repeated. If they can't keep it to themselves, how do they expect another, without a real stake in the secret, to keep silent to their confidants?
Best wishes.

Thank you. Yep, that was my bad. Even though I trusted my best friend to keep the story to herself, I had no business telling her in the first place. Hugs

What I meant was that your friend shouldn't have even told you.

An excellent story showing both the bad and the good which comes back to one and also the lessons learned and the accompanying emotions with each. Well written. Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

We've all "opened our big mouths" and regretted it, and many of us have been in situations where our good deed has made someone else so very happy that it has spread to us. Mom always said, "Giving is better than receiving." Mom was right.
Nicely laid out story of the good and bad side of karma.

That is so true, I've opened my big mouth a few times and regretted it immediately. Words are one thing you can't take back, they hang in the air and come and a bite you at the strangest times. Doing something good for someone you don't even know, like the owner of the ring, must be a precious experience when you saw the joy in her face. Doing something for others is reward enough, and always brings happiness to all. I enjoyed reading your non-fiction story, very well done! :)) Sandra xx
