Proud Mama indeed, and well you should be! It's such a fine feeling to see our "children" soar from the nest and succeed in such a fashion! Congratulate her for me, for that Master's Degree! Wow--sounds like you have grands to make you proud as well... You must have done a lot right! Take a bow yourself in the process!

I love this poem about your daughter. You give such a clear picture of a woman who has grown from a happy childhood to a parent and a scholar.
Daughters and sons, too, are precious children from God on loan! I loved that.

I liked that line as well as I believe we all belong to God and our children are just that - on loan from Him.

I hardly ever give 6 stars, but I found this to really resonate in my heart. I feel like this about my grown child as well. And I recently returned to university for my degree, so I can celebrate with your daughter as well! The poem reads easily, the rhyme and rhythm carries it along. Great work!

It's funny the things we remember that our children have forgotten. When I read her this poem at our celebration dinner, she didn't remember the muddy shoes and dress of lace or the day she played in a softball game and immediately after she changed cloths in the back seat of the car on our way to her piano recital. But...I remember them well.

You are very welcome, Janet. When you think about it, there is a lot to pack in a brain if we remembered everything. I know I learned the stories from my parents regarding the early days. It is the same with my adult son.
